If you’re looking for something to do today before the rain starts (🤞), this is one of the activities on at Park Life Heavitree today. It’s a taster Park Yoga session aimed at parents, so babies and children are welcome. It’s followed by a Teddy Bears’ picnic in the park. Paddling pools are open and there are plenty of beautiful trees to sit under. I’ll be here at 10.15 and there’s no need to book. Just bring a mat, towel or blanket for a moment of stretching, movement and relaxation.

I’m very excited to be collaborating with Emma Ossian-Pingleton, on a new creative writing workshop session for parents and carers at The Baby Room, on Monday 21st July, from 1.30-2.45pm. The cost is just £4 to cover the room hire and materials. The aim is to create a supportive space where you can come and do some creative writing, whether you’re a complete beginner or seasoned writer. We’ll provide a variety of flexible writing prompts for you and toys for your little ones. There’ll be opportunities to share what you’ve written, but no pressure to share either. So whether you’ve always wanted to try creative writing or are struggling to do anything creative with the demands of parenting, everyone is welcome. To book, please get in touch on here, or email yogawithnikkie@gmail.com

As some of you will know, I’ve been off work for the last six months, recovering from a carotid artery dissection and a haemorrhagic stroke. I’m just starting to get back to some teaching and I’ve missed the babies so much.

I will no longer be teaching at the Exeter Yoga Workshop, where I’ve run Yoga Babies classes for many years. They are running their own classes with a different teacher. So, I’m going to run some sessions from my home studio in Heavitree. They’re small groups of six babies and their grown ups and the first course will be in July, four Tuesday mornings, 10.30-11.30, starting on 1st July. The cost for the course is £32. There are about three spaces left and if I sell out, I’ll probably run another class on a different morning.

I’ve been running these classes for twenty years, in different locations and I’m so grateful to have shared them with so many of you. All the baby yoga stretches and songs are original, tried and tested on my own babies. If you’ve been to my classes and enjoyed them, please share with anyone you know who might be interested. Thank you so much for your support over the years 💜
