A massive congratulations to a member of our embryology team, Lauren, who has successfully completed the Scientist Training Programme in Reproductive Science (Embryology). Lauren successfully completed her registration last year (2025).

The level of dedication Lauren showed throughout her 3 years of training is highly admirable 🔬🧪 🧑‍🔬 Lauren joined Fertility Exeter back in 2020 and has grown considerably in her confidence and skills as an embryologist since. Lauren is a valued member of our team and we hope she will remain with us for many years to come. Huge congratulations Lauren ❤

✨ Keeping at the forefront of fertility care ✨

Last week, embryologists Kelly, Sarah and Jo and nurse Hedda attended Fertility 2026 in Edinburgh — one of the key conferences in reproductive medicine.

Attending events like this is a vital part of what we do: staying up to date with the latest research, techniques and best practice, sharing knowledge with colleagues across the UK and beyond, and continually improving the care we provide for our patients.

We’re also incredibly proud that our team didn’t just attend — they contributed.
Research currently being undertaken here at Fertility Exeter in male fertility was presented at the conference, showcasing the important work happening within our own centre. We are thrilled that this presentation was recognised in the awards ceremony, winning Best Oral Presentation in its category 🏆 — a fantastic achievement for our team!

Continuous learning, collaboration and research are central to our values — all with one aim: delivering the very best fertility care for our patients.

🌱 Considering trying Veganuary this year?
Why not combine the challenge with supporting important scientific research in reproductive health?

🥼 The S.P.E.R.M. Study is coming to a close on 16th January, but we still have two spaces available for currently omnivorous men to take part. The study is investigating the effects of a plant-based diet on male reproductive health.

📧 For more information about what’s involved and how to take part, please email rduh.fertilityresearch@nhs.net before making any dietary changes.

✨ By taking part, you’ll be helping to advance research that could make a real difference to future reproductive health care.

🎙️ Exciting news from Fertility Exeter!

Our Senior Embryologist, Jo, was recently interviewed on the Nutrition Uncovered podcast discussing our ongoing research into male fertility and plant-based diets. 🌍💡

🎧 you can listen to the episode here https://spotify.link/NL0sH1POvXb

This important study is now in its final stages, and we’re looking for the last few participants:
👨‍🔬 3 spots left for control subjects — that’s someone who doesn’t change their diet but takes part in all the testing.
🥗 5 spaces left in January for full participants who will take part in the full dietary programme (you can, of course, join before January — but starting then means you can enjoy a flexible Christmas and kick off the new year with a health boost, with added support from national and international movements such as Veganuary 🌱).

After these are filled, recruitment will close, so if you’re interested in helping us advance fertility research, now’s the time!

📩 Get in touch at rduh.fertilityresearch@nhs.net to find out more or sign up.
