Pain can be confusing and even a bit scary when you don’t know why it’s happening. But once it starts to make sense, the whole experience feels less threatening — and that can actually help reduce pain itself.
When anxiety drops, your body relaxes, tension eases, and the nervous system calms down. Research shows that understanding and reassurance can lower sensitivity and make recovery smoother.
That’s why I always take the time to explain what I’m feeling, what might be happening, and what you can do to help things along. Knowledge is powerful — and in this case, it’s genuinely part of the treatment.
