One of the things I love most about my work is the variety of people I get to help.
I’m a holistic massage therapist, but remedial and problem-solving work is really my speciality. I’ve been working full time in this field for nearly 10 years, and helping people work through pain, injury, and recovery is what I do all day, every day.
Just in the last 8 days I’ve worked with a huge range of clients. One person came in post tummy-tuck surgery for lymphatic drainage and scar work, and two C-section mums came for treatment for tension and scar mobility. I saw someone for visceral massage to help with constipation and slow digestive transit, and another client who needed lymph drainage and massage before their next cancer treatment infusion.
There have also been sports and injury cases — one person with acute neck pain and restricted mobility, and another with a foot injury while training for an event. I worked with a client managing chronic hip pain and restriction, and supported two people living with lupus and the inflammation and pain that comes with it.
I’ve also seen a client with Ehlers–Danlos syndrome and another with hypermobility, helping them manage joint pain. One client came with FND, and another needed grounding and support through burnout.
Alongside those more complex cases, there were also plenty of the everyday issues that bring people in:
seven people needed help with back, lower back, or hip pain, seven more needed work on their upper backs, shoulders, and necks, three people came in with leg pain, and nine were dealing with more general aches, stiffness, and tension.
It’s been a very full week — and a really rewarding one. I feel incredibly lucky that this is the work I get to do, and that so many people trust me to help them feel a bit more comfortable in their bodies.
Thank you to all of you who come through the door.
