How is this for a feast? 😋

We have recently had two new live-in care packages start to kick off the new year, so as usual, we provided the clients and their new live-in Care Professionals with some yummy treats to help them get acquainted.

We always enjoy shopping and supporting local businesses wherever we can (sadly we couldn't get local marshmallows at the time). Greendale Farm Shop Burts Potato Chips

A big congratulations to Charlotte, who has completed her Care Certificate with us! Charlotte has been really enjoying her care journey with us and is much loved by her client base. You may have seen her over Christmas singing along to Jingle Bells with her client ☺️

Well done Charlotte (left) and well done Kate (right) for providing support along the way 🥰

Our Care Professional, Amanda and her client, Mrs S, went food shopping together and then decided to make some homemade vegetable soup! When they got home they were listening to music and chatting away whilst peeling and chopping together. Here is a photo of Amanda and the soup - pre-blend! 😋

Mrs S said they had a very productive afternoon! 🥕🥔🍅🥦🧅

This Cervical Cancer Prevention Week is a chance to pause, share awareness, and talk about how cervical screening helps protect long term health.

Almost all cervical cancer cases are caused by HPV, a very common virus that most people come into contact with at some point. Screening now checks for HPV first, helping to spot risk early and prevent cervical cancer before it develops. For most people, results are reassuring, and for a small number, early follow ups help keep them safe and well.

If you are invited for a smear test, attending is one of the simplest ways to look after your health. For information and support, visit https://ukcervicalcancer.org.uk/.

Taking care of yourself helps you stay well for the people who matter most 💚

Families often think the turning point will be a crisis or a big change, but more often it is something else.

It's the moment when a regular companionship visit starts to make everyday life feel easier again. Someone popping in for a chat, a walk, a bit of help with shopping or a shared cup of tea can lift mood, rebuild confidence and gently support routines.

For families we support, that consistency brings reassurance. You know your loved one is not spending long days alone and you can see the difference it makes to their wellbeing.

Companionship visits are often where support really begins to feel right.

If you are wondering whether companionship visits could make a difference, our team in Exeter and East Devon is happy to chat on 01395 200600 or via homeinstead.co.uk/exeter-east-devon.

People who come from retail, hospitality or admin often excel in care, not because the work is similar, but because the values are.

They know how to listen, notice the small things and take pride in doing a job properly.

Our longer, un-rushed visits with clients mean there is time to slow down, build relationships and give the kind of support that feels thoughtful rather than rushed, something many people have been missing in previous roles.

If this sounds like the kind of work you would enjoy, speak with our team in Exeter and East Devon on 01395 200600 or apply online at https://go.homeinstead.co.uk/3xJqzDl
