Had a fantastic day at BETT 2026! 🎉 So many innovative products and inspiring talks - always great to see the latest in assistive technology and education.
A real highlight was meeting Laura Brown, AAC advocate from Spinning World of Autism. 💜 Always wonderful to connect with people doing such important work in our community. 🌟

Happy national Hug day!

Technically not a UK holiday but most people could benefit from hugging more.

Hugging releases oxytocin. This hormone provides tremendous health benefits. Not only does it gives us feel-good hormones, but it reduces pain. Receiving a hug helps reduce stress, lowers blood pressure, and lowers the risk of heart disease. It also eases anxiety.

Go and hug someone today!

We were excited to see the release from Mattel this week of Autistic Barbie.
Representation matters!
Autism doesn’t have ‘a look’, but including commonly used support methods such ear defenders, a fidget toy and showing an AAC device, bringing them to a mainstream audience, matters.
Making just one person feel seen, matters.

One doll will never represent everyone and everyone’s lived experience of autism is different, but this is progress.

She has fully bendable elbows and wrists to allow for repetitive hand movements or stimming, and her eyes gaze slightly to one side to represent the discomfort sometimes felt with eye contact.

“I have been using the app for the last couple of weeks and it has been amazing for Zak, he loves it and its made transitions so much better for him. If its on the schedule he doesn't argue!”
“So pleased to be working with you guys.”

✨ World Braille Day ✨

World Braille Day, on the 4th of January, celebrates awareness of the importance of braille as a means of communication

Braille opens doors to education, independence, and equal opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Let’s build a world where information is accessible to everyone — in every form. 🤍
