Happy Easter Monday from all of us at Quay Kinetics Physio 🐣🌷
We hope you’re having a lovely long weekend, whether that’s been family time, fresh air, gardening, long walks, DIY jobs, or simply enjoying a bit of rest (and chocolate!).
Bank holiday weekends are often when little aches and pains decide to make themselves known — a stiff back after gardening, a grumbly knee after extra walking, or a neck and shoulder flare after travelling or decorating.
If your body is feeling the effects today, please know we’re back in clinic this week at both The Quay Climbing Centre and Boulder Exe and are here to help.
Sometimes a small ni**le sorted early can save weeks of frustration.
No pressure at all, just a gentle reminder that you don’t need to struggle on with it alone 🤍

Not all elbow pain is “just tennis elbow”…
And this is especially important in children.
Most of the time, elbow pain is simple and settles well.
But there are a few situations where it’s worth pausing and getting it properly checked —
particularly after a fall, or if things just aren’t improving as expected.
It’s not about worrying…
👉 it’s about getting the right diagnosis early.
If you’re unsure about your elbow — or your child’s — we’re always happy to help.

Hi everyone – Jen here
If you’ve been trying to book in with me recently and it’s been a bit tricky, it’s because I’m starting to slow my diary down ahead of ankle surgery at the end of April (let’s hope I’m a good patient!).
I’ll be taking a bit of time off in May to recover, but the rest of the QKP team are all here as normal – so you don’t need to wait to get seen.
Laura, Carmen, Amy and Dan are all brilliant Chartered Physios (most of you will have met them already), and Will is continuing with Performance Testing at Boulder Exe too.
Clinical Pilates is still running with Laura, and my Functional Rehab class will just pause for a few weeks and then be back.
If you’re not sure who to book in with, just drop us a message or email and we'll point you in the right direction.
Jen

Sunday evening check-in…
Are you:
• Dreading Monday because your back is aching?
• Avoiding running because your knee flared last time?
• Sleeping badly because your shoulder won’t settle?
It’s easy to hope it’ll improve this week.
But if it’s been lingering for a while, it usually needs the right input, not just rest and wishful thinking.
At Quay Kinetics Physio in Exeter, we assess properly, explain clearly, and give you a structured plan so you can move forward with confidence.
We have limited appointments available this week at Boulder Exe and The Quay Climbing Centre.
If you’ve been putting it off, consider this your nudge.

Can small changes in physical activity make a major difference?
A new meta-analysis suggests that just five extra minutes of moderate physical activity a day is associated with a 10% reduction in all deaths in the majority of adults. Explore the latest data 👉 http://spkl.io/6189AvEML

That ache you’ve been ignoring?
It’s rarely random.
Most flare-ups happen when total load increases — training, stress, sleep disruption, life.
And the earlier you address it, the easier it is to settle.
Small tweak now beats six weeks off later.
If something has been lingering more than a week, spreading, or changing, it’s worth getting clarity.
A proper assessment removes the guesswork and gives you a plan.
We’ve got a few appointments available at Boulder Exe this week if you’d rather sort it sooner than later.
