Are discounts important to small suppliers and their clients in 2026? I don't think they are.
Client retention and relationships are far more important. Big players are aftermarket domination, so small suppliers need to work to their strengths.

Let’s face it, discounts make reasonably priced goods expensive. if your brand becomes associated with discounts, you will be overcharging on your price list to compensate for the loss.
Discounts have a place, introductory offers and product trials. But they don't make long term sense.

How have we adapted our business model to ensure strong, stable trading for the years ahead?
1️⃣ We have stopped all discounts. Our clients value our commitment and our pricelist reflects the ''TRUE'' service cost.
2️⃣ Everyone has a choice between 'Full Account' or 'Partial Account' status
3️⃣ Full Account holders settle invoices automatically, so we know exactly when each invoice will be settled.
4️⃣ Partial Account holders access the exact same commitment to service but pay a service charge of 20% per invoice to account for administration and bookkeeping. These invoices must be settled before the work is dispatched.
What is the result of these changes?
☑️ 90% of our service works is for retain clients.
✅ Our services are still fully accessible by occasional engagements, but they bear the costs of administration, and more importantly 'MY' hours for bookkeeping are paid, not a hidden free service.
☑️ We have a stable business with predictable cash flow.
✅ We attract the stronger independent businesses who value client / supplier relationships as a real advantage in a competitive market.
