When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.
Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.
You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.

Today we reflect on the service of our armed forces, and remember all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our communities.

If you're in the British armed forces or are a veteran, a reservist, or a family member of someone who is serving or who has served, help is available.

Did you know we are an armed forces Veteran friendly accredited GP Practice?

While healthcare for veterans is already prioritised, the NHS wants to improve the way in which veterans are registered at their GP practice and support GPs and practice teams to ensure veterans are fully aware of the dedicated help available to them.

Please let us know if you are a veteran so we can ensure this is recorded on your medical records.

Movember

Movember is here to change the face of men’s health. Too many men are dying before their time, and growing a moustache in November is a conversation starter for those difficult topics that could save lives.
*Trigger warning*

Did you know that in the UK, three out of four suicides are by men? This has to change. This month is a time to focus on men’s mental health, prevention and health promotion.

Have you noticed a friend’s change in mood? Maybe they’re not around as much, or they’re going through life changes? Reaching out can make all the difference.

One in four people will have a stroke in their lifetime; do you know the warning signs? Every second counts. A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age – but quick action saves lives.

F – Face drooping
A – Arm weakness
S – Speech difficulty
T – Time to call 999

Every day in the UK, 240 people have a stroke. You can reduce your risk by cutting out smoking, limiting alcohol intake, eating a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables, and getting regular physical activity to maintain a healthy weight and blood pressure.
