💚 We are a Carer Friendly GP Practice 💚

If you look after someone who couldn’t manage without your help, you may be an unpaid carer.

We work with Devon Carers to make sure carers registered with our practice receive the right information, advice and support.

You may be an unpaid carer if you look after someone with a medical condition, mental health condition, or drug/alcohol dependency who would struggle without your support.

How we can support you:
• Access to a flu jab
• Signposting to local support services
• Involvement in care discussions where appropriate

How to access support
Please tell our receptionist that you are an unpaid carer, or register directly with Devon Carers:

Or speak to a member of our staff, who can refer you on your behalf.

Turning on NHS App notifications is a simple way to help the NHS save money while staying informed about your healthcare. 🩺

Notifications can remind you about appointments, test results, prescriptions and important updates, helping reduce missed appointments and unnecessary letters or texts.

Using the NHS App makes it easier to manage your health in one place, saves time for NHS services and helps resources be used where they are needed most. Making this small change can have a big impact for you and the NHS. 📱

Cervical screening can sometimes feel worrying, but knowing what to expect during your appointment can help to put you at ease and make it easier to attend. The test itself usually takes less than five minutes. Although it may feel briefly uncomfortable, it’s an important check that could save your life.

From 1 January 2026, all children will be offered a combined measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) vaccine instead of measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR) as part of the childhood routine 2-dose vaccination schedule. Dose 1 will be offered at one year of age and dose 2 will be brought forward from 3 years 4 months to the new 18-month appointment. Information on eligibility and timing of vaccination is available in the routine childhood immunisation schedule and the Introduction of a routine varicella (MMRV) vaccination programme letter.

From 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2028 there will be a single dose selective MMRV catch-up programme for older children who have not yet had chickenpox infection or 2 doses of varicella vaccination.

🦠RSV is an infectious disease of the airways and lungs. RSV infection often causes symptoms similar to a cold, including:

cough
sore throat
sneezing
a runny or blocked nose

It can also make you become wheezy or short of breath and lead to pneumonia and other life-threatening conditions.

Everyone turning 75 years old on or after the 1 September 2024 will be offered a single dose of RSV vaccine. You can still get the vaccine up to the day before you turn 80. Anyone who was 79 when the catch-up programme started can have the vaccine up to 31 August 2025 even if they have already turned 80.

If you are not yet 75 the NHS will invite you for vaccination once you turn 75.
