Working with Kelly and using the Coached by Matthew’s app for 10 weeks was great!

Kelly was fun to work with and be trained by. She helped keep training focused, fun and energetic.
My goal was to get back into training in a gym environment, regain some confidence to be there and to train effectively. But also lose weight, feel fitter and stronger!

Goals accomplished! I saw my over strength and fitness improve, enabling me to do more and for longer by the end of the 10 weeks. Confidence in using equipment increased and comfortable to use independently!
When she said I would need to do progress photos weekly as one of the methods to track progress I was cringing on the inside and out! But
. By the end of the 10 weeks I could actually see the difference in my shape and muscle tone in several areas. Which in turn was a boost!

Weekly check in forms and feedback very useful and supportive!

The app and access to other training material, group chat also very supportive, motivating and helpful!
It was a great 10 weeks! And hoping to be back to aim for more goals and successes with Kelly and Coached by Matthews support!

Not because you don’t care — but because you don’t feel confident in what you’re doing.

Building strength is important, but building confidence in your body comes first.

Squats are one of the movements I often see women struggle with.

Maybe you have tight hips from childbirth or you’ve felt pain doing squats before.

The truth is, there are lots of ways to squat — and the right version should feel stable, controlled and confidence-building.

Strength comes from feeling safe in the movement first.

If I was someone who struggled with squats, I would start with a box squat, progress to a goblet squat and when you’re confident enough, head to the bar.

Many of the women I work with have tried classes, home workouts, running, gym programs
 but nothing ever quite sticks.

Usually because life is busy, energy is limited, and their body doesn’t respond the way it used to.

Or they are complete beginners and unsure where to start.

You don’t have to push yourself to your limits on every session.

Yes, in order to see changes in our body, it needs to be challenged and the majority of the time, that’s what we want to be aiming for in our sessions.

However, that’s not always going to be possible due to illness, stress, existing health conditions and many other factors!

Some days you just need to meet yourself where you’re at, and that’s okay đŸ€—

Do you actually hate your body
or are you just being really hard on yourself?

Drawn in by social media comparisons, other people’s highlight reels, or the dreaded diet culture.

Maybe you punish your body using exercise, or depriving it of food, constantly criticising it because it’s not the way you want it to look.

But you only get one body and this is the one that’s going to carry you through your entire life. It deserves to be respected - to be moved, to be well fuelled and to be strong.

Now’s the time to break the cycle.
Forget everything you’ve been taught.
Accept that you’ve been given misinformation.
Learn to love your body.
