Exmouth Ashtanga Yoga is led by brother & sister, Neil & Jinty. Neil has been practising and studying Ashtanga Yoga since 2006 completing his Yoga Alliance Teaching Training Course in Goa, India. Over those years he has practised with various Shri K Pattabhi Jois certified teachers across the world. After his second visit to Purple Valley Yoga Retreat in India, he met Nancy Gilgoff, one of the first certified Ashtanga teachers who started her studies with Pattabhi Jois in 1973.Nancy's method of teaching is with compassion and awareness of the body and is as close to the original teachings as possible. Nancy's teaching has helped Neil to recover from various injuries, deepen his practice and inspired him to share his knowledge and help others. Neils studies with Nancy continue for a minimum of three months every winter. "There are so many benefits from the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, and it has helped and healed my body and that of my students, and would like to continue passing the benefits of yoga on, for as long as possible." Jinty has been a student of ashtanga yoga since 2010, with Neil as her teacher and guide. Studying with teachers such as Kino Macgregor. After developing her personal daily practice she began to assist Neil in his classes. Jinty completed teacher training with David Swenson and another with Manju Pattahbi Jois in 2014 & has taught regularly since then, also looking after Neils classes when he is away with Nancy.

🌺Nancy Gilgoff— our dear friend and teacher—left her body a year ago today, but she remains with us in every breath, every movement, and every moment on the mat. As we practice each day, we honor her wisdom, her spirit, and the light she shared with us.

Neil and I made the, very difficult, decision over the summer to step away from weekly classes for an unknown period of time and hope to offer Ashtanga courses and workshops in the future.

The AYE Community are wonderful and continue to practice Mysore together. If you are interested in led practice Amanda teaches in and around Exmouth.

We are so grateful for this gorgeous art work that the community had commissioned for us from a fellow student- the talented (follow him for all things art and nature 💚).

I look forward to seeing the Sunday morning Mysore family very soon.

Happy weekend everyone 💚
