Meet Pennie 💛
Occupational Therapist

Pennie is an experienced Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of clinical practice across mental health and specialist children’s services. She has a particular passion for supporting children who have experienced early years trauma and those with complex emotional and sensory needs.

Her work is grounded in a neuro-inclusive, compassionate approach that recognises and respects the many different ways children experience the world. Pennie has undertaken additional training in Sensory Attachment Intervention and is currently completing specialist training in Sensory Integration, deepening her understanding of the science behind sensory processing differences.

Pennie believes that every child can flourish when given the right understanding, environment and support. She works closely with families to help make everyday life feel calmer, more manageable and more connected.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of the Live to Learn team 🌿

Understanding your child’s sensory and emotional needs can make a huge difference to daily life at home, as well as in learning environments.

Our Occupational Therapy Assessments with Pennie Lamkin (£850) are designed to give families clear insight, practical strategies and meaningful next steps.

Pennie is an experienced paediatric occupational therapist with over 15 years of clinical practice. She takes a neuroaffirmative, trauma-informed approach, looking at the whole child — not just individual differences.

The assessment explores sensory processing, regulation, emotional wellbeing and how these impact everyday life. You’ll receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report with personalised recommendations that can support home, learning environments and (where appropriate) EHCP processes.

If you’re looking for clarity, understanding and realistic support, we’re here to help.

📚 Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment | £599

A diagnostic dyslexia assessment is a detailed, specialist evaluation designed to identify dyslexia and related learning differences in children and young people.

Assessments are carried out by Kathryn, an experienced and highly qualified specialist teacher and assessor, following the professional guidance and standards of the British Dyslexia Association (BDA).

The assessment looks at a young person’s cognitive profile alongside their reading, spelling and writing skills, helping us understand how these areas interact with their everyday learning and educational experience.

✨ What happens after the assessment?

You’ll receive a comprehensive written report that:

✔ Confirms whether the learner meets criteria for dyslexia (in line with BDA guidance)
✔ Clearly explains strengths and areas of difficulty
✔ Provides practical, personalised recommendations for home and school

Where appropriate, the report can also support:
📌 Exam Access Arrangements
📌 EHCP applications and reviews
📌 SEND Tribunal evidence

Our goal is to ensure each young person receives the right support and reasonable adjustments to help them reach their full potential.

✨ Meet Charlotte ✨
Speech & Language Therapist & Assessor

Charlotte is a Speech and Language Therapist with nearly 15 years’ experience, supporting children and young people across early years, primary, and secondary ages.

She has worked across educational settings, the NHS, and now independently — helping young people both at home and within their education setting to better understand and support their individual speech, language and communication needs.

Charlotte takes a holistic, strengths-based approach, exploring each child’s unique communication profile by choosing the most appropriate assessment tools and approaches to gain a clear, meaningful understanding of both strengths and support needs.

Her areas of specialist interest include:
✔ Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
✔ Complex speech sound difficulties
✔ Supporting neurodiverse children and young people within these areas

Above all, Charlotte’s work is always child-centred and compassionate. She works closely with families to ensure every child is seen, heard, and supported, creating positive environments where communication needs are recognised and nurtured — and where each young person can grow with confidence.

🌿 Meet Kelly | Education Consultant & Director

Kelly is the Education Consultant and Director at Live to Learn Integrated Assessments. She cares deeply about helping children and young people feel safe, understood, and able to succeed in education — especially when the usual systems don’t quite work for them.

Her work focuses on inclusive and alternative education, supporting learners and young people with or without SEND and SEMH needs. Kelly works closely with families and professionals to create flexible, thoughtful pathways that reflect real lives, real challenges, and real potential.

💛 Kelly’s lived experience

Kelly is also a SEN mum.

She has navigated the education system from the parent side — the meetings, the paperwork, the waiting, the uncertainty, and the emotional weight that comes with advocating for a child. This lived experience shapes everything she does.

It means she understands how overwhelming the system can feel, how important it is to be listened to, and how powerful the right support can be at the right time. Kelly brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work, helping bridge the gap between families and education systems with empathy and clarity.

🌱 How Kelly works

Kelly believes education works best when it’s built on relationships, flexibility and trust.

Whether she is:
✨ supporting professionals to improve inclusive teaching and practice
✨ helping design education packages for home educated children
✨ advising families and advocating for a young person
✨ improving quality and practice across settings

Her focus is always the same: creating environments where young people feel valued, capable and able to thrive.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief:

✨ Every child deserves the right to a suitable education — and with the right support, positive change is always possible.

🌿 Why Curiosity Is a Strength in Parenting

So many parents come to us feeling unsure, worried, or full of questions about their child — how they learn, how they think, or why certain things feel harder for them.

What we want you to know is this:

✨ Your curiosity is not a problem.
✨ It’s not “overthinking.”
✨ And it doesn’t mean you’re getting it wrong.

Curiosity is a strength in parenting.

It means you’re noticing.
You’re reflecting.
You’re staying open to understanding your child more deeply — rather than judging them or yourself.

Curiosity says:
💚 “I want to understand what’s going on beneath the surface.”
💚 “I want to support my child in the best way I can.”

And that mindset creates safety, compassion and growth.

At Live to Learn Integrated Assessments, we hold the same value.
We approach every child with genuine interest and respect — asking what do they need to thrive? — not what do they need to change?

So if you’re wondering, questioning or seeking clarity…
that’s love in action. 🌟
