This speaks so deeply to the work of hypnotherapy - supporting people at life’s thresholds as they release what no longer serves and step forward with clarity and courage.

At any time you can ask yourself: At which threshold am I now standing? At this time in my life, what am I leaving? Where am I about to enter? What is preventing me from crossing my next threshold? What gift would enable me to do it? A threshold is not a simple boundary; it is a frontier that divides two different territories, rhythms, and atmospheres. Indeed, it is a lovely testimony to the fullness and integrity of an experience or a stage of life that it intensifies toward the end into a real frontier that cannot be crossed without the heart being passionately engaged and woken up. At this threshold a great complexity of emotion comes alive: confusion, fear, excitement, sadness, hope. This is one of the reasons such vital crossings were always clothed in ritual. It is wise in your own life to be able to recognize and acknowledge the key thresholds: to take your time; to feel all the varieties of presence that accrue there; to listen inward with complete attention until you hear the inner voice calling you forward. The time has come to cross.

A gentle reminder of how powerful simple things can be 🌿

A walk in nature at this time of year can calm the mind and reset the nervous system. On a recent walk near Blackness, just outside Linlithgow, I was reminded that wellbeing doesn’t always have to be serious - even stopping for a bit of fun can shift how we feel 😊

Fresh air, movement and moments of play help the mind soften and settle. If you can, take a little time out and enjoy whatever small pleasures you find along the way.

Guess who’s arrived for the festive season? 👀✨

Our little Christmas Elf has officially checked into his Elf House - suitcase, house rules and plenty of mischief in tow! 🧳🏠🎄

He says he’s here to help spread calm, kindness and maybe the occasional giggle…(but we’ll see how long the “calm” part lasts 😅).

Apparently his Elf House Rules include:

✨Take deep breaths before any mischief
✨No reprogramming the hypnotherapy scripts
✨Only sprinkle positive magic
✨And absolutely NO touching the biscuits before sessions

We’ll keep an eye on him… though with elves, anything can happen. Stay tuned - he’s promised to “behave”… but we all know how that usually goes! 😉
