Resting safely in the care of our family 🖤🤍

BAIRD, Lindsay
Hallglen

With heavy hearts, on behalf of his loving family, we announce the passing of Lindsay Baird.

Lindsay passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, 12th February 2026, aged 56 years. A loving son to Betty and a cherished dad to Cameron and Aaron. A much-loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and a great friend to many.

Lindsay was a huge character, someone whose presence you couldn’t miss. If he walked into a room, you knew about it, and his laugh was truly unforgettable.

He was kind, friendly, and easy to talk to. He knew so many people, and so many people knew him. Wherever he went, he left an impression, and many people thought a great deal of him.

His passing has come as a great shock and has left deep sadness for all who knew and loved him. The silence left by his unexpected passing brings a great heaviness. Yet he will always be remembered for the laughter he brought into the lives of family and friends, the stories, the laughs, and the warmth of his company. The mark he left on the people around him will remain forever.

A service of celebration for the life of Lindsay will take place in Falkirk Crematorium on Friday, 20th March, at 1 pm.

Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Further service and donation details can be found on Lindsay’s dedicated memorial page below:

20/02/2026

The introduction of new legislation for funeral homes is both necessary and welcome. Every person entrusted into our care deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and the very highest standards without exception.

Most people don’t realise that in the UK, anyone can call themselves a funeral director. You can’t be a doctor, nurse, or teacher without a qualification, but anybody can be entrusted with the care of a family's loved one who has passed away.

Consistent inspections and clear regulations across all funeral providers will help ensure that these standards are upheld throughout the profession. Proper oversight offers reassurance to families at one of the most vulnerable times in their lives and helps maintain the integrity of funeral service as a whole.

Providing safe, professional, and dignified care requires appropriate facilities, equipment, and robust procedures. These are not optional extras; they are fundamental responsibilities. The focus must always remain on the individuals and families we are privileged to serve. 🖤🤍

Richard Elkin and Hayley Bell were found to have kept bodies in unrefrigerated conditions.

The family of the dearly loved Stevie Walker would like to say a huge thank you to all family, friends and work colleagues who came together to honour and celebrate Stevie’s life on Monday, 16th February, at Falkirk Crematorium. The kindness, messages, and support shown in the days and weeks since Stevie’s sudden passing have meant more than words can say and have brought real comfort at such a heartbreaking time.

A special thank you to Celebrant Dougie Smith of Lifetime Reflections for leading such a personal and heartfelt service, capturing Stevie so perfectly and reflecting the man his family knew and loved. Thanks also to Lynne at Poppys & Petals for the care and thought put into Stevie’s beautiful floral tributes.

The family are also very grateful to the staff at The Leapark Hotel for their kindness and support in providing Stevie’s funeral tea, which was appreciated by everyone who attended.

Thank you as well for the generous donations received at the service and through Stevie’s memorial page. These will be given to Ronald McDonald House Charities and Alzheimer’s Scotland in his memory.

It was incredibly comforting for the family to see so many of Stevie’s friends and workmates there to stand alongside them and celebrate his life. The sheer number of people who came along spoke volumes about the kind of colleague and friend he was and it truly reflected the impact he had on those around him and brought great comfort to the people who loved him most.

As many shared in the service, Stevie’s passion for long-distance lorry driving was such a big part of who he was. The open road, the independence, and the pride he took in his work meant everything to him. While his final journey has now come to an end, his memory will travel on in the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.

It has been a true privilege to care for Stevie, to learn about his life, the wonderful man he was and to support his wonderful family. We will continue to be there for them in the weeks and months ahead, in whatever way they may need.

Rest in eternal peace, Stevie 🖤🤍
