π£ Scotland is making real progress towards eliminating transmissions of HIV.
Our latest annual report shows:

An estimated 6,500 people are living with HIV in Scotland
β
94% have been diagnosed
β
91% of those diagnosed are receiving treatment
β
95% of those on treatment are virally suppressed, meaning HIV cannot be transmitted through s*x
Uptake of PrEP remains high, helping prevent new cases. PrEP is a preventive medication for people who are HIV-negative but at risk of exposure to HIV. When taken correctly, it is highly effective at preventing HIV infection.
To keep moving forward, Scotland must stay flexible and responsive to global changes and evolving health needs.
