Stop the press - I've found my new favourite dish! 😍

The beauty lies in its minimal ingredients and weirdly wonderful twists - the flavours are truly EXCEPTIONAL! Roasted crown prince squash (with toasted cumin seeds and smoked paprika) on top of warmed houmous... The combination of tahini, cinnamon, and allspice creates such a wonderfully cosy, autumnal flavour 🤤

💪🏼 HIGH PROTEIN WRAP 💪🏼

This breakfast wrap packs a punch with a whopping 63g of protein - without any powders or bars in sight! An egg wrap loaded with ham, chicken, lettuce and tomatoes 🤤

But what’s the buzz with protein? In a nutshell, proteins are essential nutrients required for the growth, repair and maintenance of bodily tissues. They’re important for enzyme production, immune function and hormone regulation. Along with carbohydrates and fats, proteins are one of the three primary macronutrients your body needs to function.

Our bodies are like buildings that undergo constant renovation – a few bricks are replaced every day. All proteins are made up of 20 basic building blocks called amino acids. Nine of these are considered essential because they can’t be produced by our bodies, so we have to get them from the foods we eat. We create the remaining 11 from those nine essential amino acids.

During digestion, proteins are broken down into amino acids and absorbed into the bloodstream. These amino acids are then reassembled to create the specific proteins the body needs to function at its best. They also help you to feel fuller for longer 🙌🏼 a big win when you’re trying to lose weight!

It’s recommended that we consume roughly 0.75g of protein each day per kg of body weight (so roughly 60g for a 12st 7lb adult, or 70g for a 16st adult) - and despite what marketing may make you think, most people hit that recommendation without even trying 😉 but there is growing evidence to suggest that a slightly higher intake may support healthy ageing 🧬

Don’t mind me… I’m just really enjoying avocado just now 👀😂 smashed avocado on a seeded bagel, with poached eggs and some Slimming World sausages! Simple, quick to make and will keep me full until my next meal (although there’s always room for a little afternoon snack 😉)

I fancied a breakfast that wasn’t just tasty and satisfying, but healthful too! So it was rye bread, smashed avocado, sausages and poached eggs 😍

Unsaturated fats can be beneficial to health - so while enjoyed in measured amounts are a great option for your health and weight loss!

I poached the eggs in cling film but they still didn’t turn out how I wanted them to 😂 if you have any top tips for poaching an egg, let me know in the comments ⬇️

After a bid of radio silence, I’m back 😅 kicking off a week of weight loss-boosting Food Optimising SP with this all day breakfast fry up!

Caramelised onions, baked tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, sausages and a fried egg 😍 that’ll keep me going until dinner now!

🎂 8 AWESOME YEARS 🎂

It’s my Slimming World birthday! 8 years ago today, I opened the doors to my very first Slimming World group 🥳 and I get to celebrate today by running a Team Training Meeting and an Opportunity Event to share more about the role!

I was only 18 years old when I became a Slimming World Consultant, I only ever planned to do it for a year… 😂 here I am 8 years later as a District Development Manager, working full-time to tackle the overweight and obesity crisis we’re facing!
