⚖️ Wednesday Weight Reduction Tip ⚖️

If you're weighing in, do it, at most, 1x per week, on the same scales at the same time.

Weighing in every day will see your weight drop on some days, stagnate on others and increase on some other days, which can deflate your morale.

Do it 1x per week, max, and focus on other non-scale victories e.g. having much more daily energy, rather than getting obsessed with that number on the scale.

You're worth much more than that number.

💪 Tuesdsy Training Tip 💪

Fast repetitions and throwing weights around might look much more cool on social media, but slow controlled movements with weights is way better for keeping you injury-free and able to train for life.

There are plenty of "influencers" on social media, launching around big poundages, but how many of them will still be training like that when they're 50, 55, 65 or even 70 years of age?

The answer is very few or none, as their joints will be wrecked.

Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to movement with weights.

Training for life = way better rezults than launching weights around now, then spending months out while injured, or having to quit altogether.

Thursday Toning Tip

Being "toned" means a bit of muscle combined with a lower than average body fat level.

If you have more muscle than average, but excess body fat, you won't look "toned" e.g. the average shot put athlete.

You also wouldnt class the average long distance runner as "toned" because of the lack of muscle mass.

The way to properly be "toned" is by at least holding onto your muscle while stripping away body fat, or ideally adding a bit of extra muscle while stripping away the fat.

You can ONLY DO this by doing resistance/weight training while improving your nutritional habits.

Using "fat jabs" or slimming clubs or calorie counting without any weight training, will see you losing your muscle tissue, so that you still don't get "toned".

Wednesday Weight Reduction Tip

It's not just all about the calories in Vs calories out or "eat less, move more".

It's vitally important, not only for your weight, but for your health, that you avoid "riding the blood sugar rollercoaster".

Spiking your blood sugar leads to insulin resistance, type ii diabetes and amputations.

Move away from a high carbohydrate, low fat diet, replacing these with protein foods, healthy fats and lots of veg, and you will keep the pounds off, have much more daily energy, better gut health, will be able to cut out snacking, and will keep disease at bay.

Are you currently snacking constantly and have energy spikes and troughs? If so, you're likely riding the blood sugar rollercoaster.

The sooner you make these recommended changes, the sooner you will be looking, feeling and performing so much better.

Wednesday Weight Loss Tip

We're advised in the western world, to eat a high carbohydrate, low fat diet. You only have to look around you to see the effect that this has had on people's health.

- Obesity has skyrocketed.
- Diabetes type ii has exploded.
- Heart disease ramped up massively.
- Cancer explosion

Unfortunately those that advise on health are often corrupted and don't have your best interests at heart.

Do the exact opposite of what they advise, and you'll do just great.

That means, eat proper, healthy fats without fear and ditch the beige, nutrient less carbohydrate-based foods and you'll feel and look great for it.

*** Thursday Tip for improved confidence ***

Work on your "emotional intelligence". Emotional intelligence (EQ) is where you are aware of your thoughts, and how they affect your actions. E.G. you try on an outfit for a big night out, and you start criticising yourself while looking in the mirror. "Look at the size of my hips". "Oh my arms are flabby". Become aware of when you do this, and quickly turn those thoughts around.

"This looks great on, though I'd rather wear something looser around the hips". "My arms are so much more toned now, but not perfect yet. I'll wear sleeves for this night, but in a few more months I'll be going sleeveless for sure".

Re-framing how you speak to yourself helps you to feel better within yourself and also to take action rather than procrastinating or simply never taking action at all, due to how you slated yourself.

One thing that really helps with EQ is to do a short meditation each morning (just 5-10 mins can make a big difference)
You will find that you are more aware of how you speak internally and can then be more kind to yourself to make you feel better, and to take action.

A tip for busy professional people who "want to look like [insert Hollywood star]"

The truth is, these Hollywood physiques are unobtainable for real people like you, because they are enhanced.

Wolverine's physique
Superman's physique
Batman's physique
Zac Effron when bulked up for "The Iron Claw" wrestling movie.
Mickey Rourke
Hulk Hogan
Sly Stallone
Arnold
Statham
Lots of fitness influences.

You name it, they're all on "the gear".

Most will deny it, but it's the cold, hard truth.

There's nothing wrong with someone taking what they want to take, to enhance their results if that's what they want to do. Just be honest about it, like Frank here, being frank.

Even Hyrox fitness events have plenty roiders competing these days.

Instead of wanting to look like them, just aim to improve your own performance and aesthetics, being realistic and patient.

No wonder people are so confused about food. Busy professional people are unlikely to spend time researching what foods are best for them, and there are so many conflicting pieces of advice. "Fat causes diabetes type ii". "Sugar is the problem". "No, it's just too many calories".

The truth is that high sugar intake and a high carbohydrate diet in general, is what leads to diabetes type ii.

Fats are a problem, when they're seed oils like rapeseed and sunflower oils, because these are inflammatory in the body.

You do not need to be afraid of fats from the following sources, which are actually very healthy for you:
- Avocados
- Olives
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Coconut oil
- Seeds
- Nuts
- Egg yolks
- The skin on fish

💪 Tuesday Training Tip 💪

Your training should be ideal for helping you to reach your goals.

This might sound obvious, but we have had people tell us that they want muscle tone, more strength and to look better in their favourite outfits, only to later tell us that they are giving up, in order to play tennis, golf, running or Nordic Walking, or some other form of sport.

Your fitness training is not "sport".

"Sport" is great, if you want to play sport, but you don't build muscle, strength or improve your muscle tone and feel more confident in your favourite outfits from swinging a racket, club, running or Nordic Walking. You achieve those goals through weight training (building muscle and strength).and eating more healthily (shedding body fat). That's what muscle tone is - more muscle and less fat.

Think about your goals and why they matter to you.

Think about whether or not the decision that you make is going to get you to reach your goals or not.

If not, then do what will get you to reach those goals that you said that you want to achieve?

Then do that very thing with consistency and diligence.
