Falmouth Training Solutions is a family-run training provider based in Falmouth, Cornwall.

We deliver accredited maritime and workplace safety courses, including STCW, Fire and First Aid, led by experienced industry professionals. Falmouth Training Solutions is a sister company to Falmouth School of Sailing and Falmouth Powerboat School. We offer professional advice and training in all levels of first aid and health and safety. Our instructors have a wealth of knowledge in administering and training for all our courses. All our first aid courses can be tailored to suit you and your workplace needs. We are based in Falmouth and are mobile to cover all of Cornwall and Devon. We can offer your training at or near your workplace, or in our training facilities in Falmouth. NEW FOR 2017 - we now offer the MCA accredited 5 day STCW Basic Safety Training Courses. The international convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers (STCW) sets the international legal minimum standards for those working at sea. It ensures that a mariner meets a set of specific safety requirements. We are the only provider in Cornwall who can offer all the MCA STCW elements required for the complete Basic STCW who operate all the courses locally in Cornwall. This is the minimum requirement for any seafarer working within a commercial role must carry for employment. Falmouth Training Solutions is looking for a friendly and organised Administration Assistant to join our small, busy team!

If you enjoy providing great customer service, keeping things running smoothly, and working as part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:
📞 Handling course bookings and enquiries (phone & email)
🧾 Issuing certificates and invoices
📚 Assisting instructors with course preparation
🗂️ General office admin tasks

You’ll need:
✅ Excellent communication and customer service skills
✅ Confidence speaking with customers in person and over the phone
✅ Good basic computer skills (email, Word, etc.)
✅ A positive attitude and good attention to detail

📅 Part-time role: 3–4 days per week (days to be agreed)

MCA One Day Stability Course ⚓️

This MCA-approved one-day course has been introduced to meet the requirements of the Workboat Code Edition 3, ensuring crew working on Workboats, Pilot Boats and Small Commercial Vessels (SCV) understand the key principles of vessel stability.

Covering topics such as transverse stability, weight distribution, crane operations, and stability risks associated with towing and deck cargoes, the course is ideal for anyone working in a deck capacity on small craft.

It’s also highly beneficial for candidates pursuing MCA Master 200, Boatmaster, or RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualifications who wish to strengthen their understanding of vessel stability and safety.

Approved Engine Course Part 2 - Save 10%!

This five-day MCA-approved course is Part 2 of the AEC qualification and meets the requirements of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s Code of Practice for the safety of large commercial sailing and motor vessels, as well as the Department for Transport’s Codes for small commercial vessels.

Designed for those who’ve completed AEC1, this course builds on your existing knowledge with advanced systems including electrics, hydraulics, refrigeration, fresh and sewage water systems, maintenance, and safe working practices. The Approved Engine Course Part 2 (AEC 2) is an enhanced continuation of the Approved Engine Course Part 1 (AEC 1), combining both practical and theoretical training. AEC 1 and AEC 2 together make up the full AEC course.
