Falmouth Training Solutions is a family-run training provider based in Falmouth, Cornwall.

We deliver accredited maritime and workplace safety courses, including STCW, Fire and First Aid, led by experienced industry professionals. Falmouth Training Solutions is a sister company to Falmouth School of Sailing and Falmouth Powerboat School. We offer professional advice and training in all levels of first aid and health and safety. Our instructors have a wealth of knowledge in administering and training for all our courses. All our first aid courses can be tailored to suit you and your workplace needs. We are based in Falmouth and are mobile to cover all of Cornwall and Devon. We can offer your training at or near your workplace, or in our training facilities in Falmouth. NEW FOR 2017 - we now offer the MCA accredited 5 day STCW Basic Safety Training Courses. The international convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers (STCW) sets the international legal minimum standards for those working at sea. It ensures that a mariner meets a set of specific safety requirements. We are the only provider in Cornwall who can offer all the MCA STCW elements required for the complete Basic STCW who operate all the courses locally in Cornwall. This is the minimum requirement for any seafarer working within a commercial role must carry for employment. STCW Elementary First Aid Course | 8 April⛑️

The STCW Elementary First Aid course forms part of the STCW Basic Safety Training required for those working at sea.

This course provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond safely and effectively to medical emergencies onboard until further assistance is available.

Course highlights:
• Acting safely and effectively when an accident or emergency occurs
• Recognising cardiac arrest and delivering CPR, including AED awareness
• Treating choking, bleeding and unconscious casualties
• Responding to drowning, cold shock and hypothermia

MCA Boatmasters Licence (BML) Fire Safety🔥

The course covers fire prevention, fire fighting equipment, fire fighting techniques and emergency procedures, giving candidates the knowledge needed to respond safely and effectively to fire onboard.

This aimed at skippers and crew of small vessels and is suitable for fishermen, boatmasters, inshore ferry operators and pilot vessel crews.

MCA Approved Engine Course Part 2 | 16-20 March ⚙️

The Approved Engine Course Part 2 is an enhanced continuation of the Approved Engine Course Part 1 and includes the delivery of both practical and theory aspects

This course provides basic theoretical knowledge and practical hands on experience of diesel engines for those working as dual deck hand/engineers on yachts over 24 metres.

AEC Part 1 and Part 2 together are termed as the full AEC course.

MCA Approved Engine Course Part 1 | 9-13 March🔧

This course provides practical hands on training and theoretical knowledge.

An entry level qualification for commercial yachts, suitable for those beginning a career in the deck or engine department, or planning to skipper smaller yachts.

This course meets the requirements of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency codes of practice and the Department of Transport codes for small commercial vessels.
