A year today, dad. ā¤ļø
The Day That Changed Things
The sunrise looked thoughtful this morning
As it delicately peeked over the rooftops;
The noises and chatter in the house
Seemed softer somehow
As we went about our morning life;
Even the traffic was more subdued
As it hushed along the distant motorway.
One year ago,
Twelve cycles of the moon,
A winter, spring, summer and autumn
A door shut in my life,
And so we arrive at the first reminder
of The Day That Changed Things.
I can still conjure your voice.
Your blue eyes.
The bristles on your cheek.
Iāll think about you a lot today.
