Yesterday, we were proud to support Funtley Village Societys first village fete in many years, providing First Aid services, and CPR/AED demos to anyone keen to find out what a public access defibrillator will mean for the village residents.
I think all agreed that the fete was a resounding success, and I don't think it will be long now before the village has at least one defibrillator purchased from the funds raised.
I had intended to take some more pictures, but didn't seem to find time between demos. We had people of all ages interested, from the very young, to the young at heart; and managed to dispel at few myths, rumours and mis-truths, such as "you need training to use an AED" (No you don't), or "it might hurt someone if they don't need a shock" (No, it will only give a shock if the person is in Cardiac Arrest and needs a shock).
Quite a few people gave the CPR and AED's a try, and were surprised at how simple and easy it is.
