Margi Green Hypnotherapy

Margi Green Hypnotherapy Hypnotherapy can be a gateway to a brighter, more positive future; free from whatever is having a negative affect on your life. The choice is yours.

Hypnotherapy is a means of talking to your subconscious mind where we store our learned behaviours and beliefs. Feeding the sub-conscious mind with positive, specifically worded suggestions is a way to break habits or change unwanted behaviour. During Hypnotherapy we can also deal with the cause of negative thoughts/behaviours. By finding the source of what is damaging us, we are able to make the necessary adjustments to free ourselves.

Over the last year we've had time to look at our lives without the usual distractions. It's been great for slowing down, concentrating on what really matters, but for some people it has left an uncomfortable feeling that life isn't as fulfilling as it could be. Hypnotherapy is as much about rebuilding self-esteem, self-confidence and enthusiasm as it is about overcoming fears or phobias. We all need hope. We all need positive expectations. I'd like to re-introduce you to your fabulous self!

It's been a while since I've posted because face to face therapy hasn't been possible. I'm delighted to say that by the power of Zoom, I'm back in the room!

Many of my recent clients have been suffering with anxiety which has become unbearable. I think everyone has felt anxious during this period but disproportionate anxiety is crippling and soul-destroying. It may not feel like it, but it really doesn't have to be this way. Everyone deserves the chance to be confident and happy.

One of my recent clients came to me with an eating disorder. She had been told by professionals that Hypnotherapy might help with the anxiety but that her condition would be with her for life. She was astonished to hear that we could solve the issue completely! Just because we've been told something is permanent, doesn't make it true. The human mind is an astonishing thing and Hypnotherapy is a fantastic way to deal with mental issues. No only does it work, but the confidence you gain in taking control of your own issues WILL be with you for life!

I've had some great results with phobias recently. Fear of flying has been a popular issue with people's holidays looming. It's fantastic to know that these clients can enjoy their holiday without the dread of the return flight!

I bumped in to someone I hadn't seen for a very long time yesterday and I told him I was a hypnotherapist. This news normally has one of two responses -

1. The look of amused horror and the inevitable 'make me behave like a chicken' joke, or

2. Scepticism and a 'whatever works for you' comment.

Funnily enough he gave me both! Even more interesting was that he sent me a text hours later to ask if he could make an appointment.

Hypnotherapy can be misunderstood, but if you cut through the crap by asking how it actually works you'll find it's a natural, obvious solution to whatever it is that's holding you back.

Misunderstandings about the subject of hypnosis are common. Here are some myths and facts.

Myth 1: When you wake up from hypnosis, you won’t remember anything that happened when you were hypnotized.

While amnesia may occur in very rare cases, people generally remember everything that transpired while they were hypnotized. However, hypnosis can have a significant effect on memory. Posthypnotic amnesia can lead an individual to forget certain things that occurred before or during hypnosis. However, this effect is generally limited and temporary.

Myth 2: You can be hypnotized against your will.

Despite stories about people being hypnotized without their consent, hypnosis requires voluntary participation on the part of the patient.

Myth 3: The hypnotist has complete control of your actions while you’re under hypnosis.

While people often feel that their actions under hypnosis seem to occur without the influence of their will, a hypnotist cannot make you perform actions that are against your wishes.

Myth 4: Hypnosis can make you super-strong, fast or athletically talented.

While hypnosis can be used to enhance performance, it cannot make people stronger or more athletic than their existing physical capabilities.

The first step in dealing with an issue that is holding you back is to believe that you deserve to feel better. It doesn't matter what your experience has been, it IS possible to change and for life to be better. Imagine being free from whatever is holding you back; really think about it.
