On Christmas Eve 10:00am till 12.00pm at all our Jackson and Browning Funeral homes, we are offering mince pies and mulled wine as a small gesture of comfort and care. This seasonal touch creates a gentle, welcoming atmosphere, giving families and friends a moment to come together, reflect, and find warmth in shared remembrance during a special time of year.🎄

We apologise for the delay in sharing our photos and videos from our Christmas Carol Evenings. Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us it truly meant so much to us.

During the evenings, we lit a candle in memory of every family who has sadly lost someone close to them, creating a moment of reflection and togetherness.

We are also honoured to share a short video of Millie, aged 5, reading a beautiful poem during the evening. Her words brought comfort and warmth to all who were there.

Our memory trees are still up, so please do pop in if you’d like to write a tag and add it to our tree in remembrance of your loved one.

Everything is prepared for this evening, and the chapel looks beautiful and peaceful.
A gentle reminder that the service does not begin until 6:30pm, with doors open from 6pm.

During the service, you are welcome to light a candle, write a tag to hang on our memory tree, and join us afterwards for light refreshments as we come together in reflection and remembrance.

Muriel Townsend
Sadly passed away with her family by her side on 24th November 2025 aged 79 years.
Leaving behind her wonderful husband, Paul Townsend and also her Son, Daugther, 4 grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Muriel's funeral service has been arranged to take place at All Saints Church Faringdon on Wednesday 17th December 2025 at 1:00pm
Followed by a committal at Coach Lane Cemetery Faringdon (family only)
The Funeral Cortège will drive down park road towards the town centre at approximately 12:35pm

Family flowers only, however donations are welcome to Sobell House

Faringdon football club will be open from 14:00, where we will gather together to celebrate her and her life.
