Beloved Husband to the late Sue, an amazing Father, Grandad, Great Grandad, Brother and friend.

Derek's funeral arrangements have been arranged to take place at St. Johns Chapel, Oxford Crematorium on Thursday 26th February 2026 at 11:00am.

Dress code is black and white casual for his beloved Newcastle United. Newcastle United football shirts are encouraged.

Yesterday, we had the honour of taking Ray on his final journey.

Ray’s first love was his work van, and one of his final wishes was to make his last journey in it. Working closely with Ray we were privileged to help make this wish a reality.

Our Funeral Director, Lee, spent time with Ray discussing what his final journey would look like, ensuring it reflected who Ray was and what mattered most to him.

It gave us great pleasure to be able to fulfil Ray’s wishes and accompany him on his final journey.

Nicolette will rest at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Hollow Way on Monday 23rd February2026
and a requiem mass will be held on Tuesday 24th February at 11am followed by burial at Headington cemetery.

We Are Looking for someone to join our team at Jackson & Browning Independent Funeral Services Ltd as a casual chauffeur bearer

As a company we are committed to providing a high standard of service to our clients and families during such a difficult time.

Duties:
•To be involved within Funerals and handling the coffin as a bearer.
•To assist in the removal of deceased persons from Hospitals, Care Homes, Private residences, and any other locations were a death has occurred.
•The routine daily maintenance, washing, cleaning, and polishing of the vehicles.
•The driving of vehicles when necessary.
•General cleaning of the non-public areas of the business, and any other general duties as may be required relative to the needs of the business.
•Assisting the funeral director on day to day duties.

Person Specification:
•Smart appearance and courteous
•Flexible approach to duties.
•Awareness of the need for discretion and confidentiality
•Full U.K. driving licence (Must be over 21 years of age)
•Be trustworthy and discreet
•Be physical fit, some heavy lifting required
•Strong eye for detail

This role may suit somebody looking for semi retirement or retired.
No previous experience needed, full training will be given.

Please note this is not a full time position nor are any guaranteed hours, availability of work will be based on the funerals we carry out.
