Croyde Medical is pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment. The Assessment is a self-assessment and reporting tool and resulted in Croyde Medical receiving a Level 2: Comprehensive net zero targets and reporting for carbon emissions. This is key to supporting us to understand how we align to the NHS’s long term sustainability priorities and the pathway to progress.

NICE recommends offering low-risk women the option to labour in water - but is it safe to stay in for birth? 🤔

A 2024 study found no increased risks for waterbirths compared to births outside of water. For women who had given birth before, the study found that serious tears were actually less common in water, while rates were similar for first-time mothers.

These results ultimately offer reassuring evidence that waterbirth is a safe option. 💧

Today is a very special day for Croyde Medical - it marks 12 years since we took our very first phone call and the Croyde journey began! 🎉

So, what did day one look like? Let us paint the picture...

Stuart was waking up with the world’s biggest hangover, after a weekend stag do in Amsterdam, with last night’s kebab all over the doorstep 🥙. Adam sent an early email: “Website is live” 🌐. Mark followed with: “Phone lines are live” 📞. Then Adam sent another: “The only thing that isn’t live… is Stuart!”

A lot has changed since then and we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come - and how we continue to grow. That said, a few traditions have stood the test of time: AGMs on the golf course and the occasional day-two conference hangover ⛳🍾. Some things, it seems, are just part of the Croyde DNA!

We're delighted to announce that Zoe, our Clinical Equipment Specialist, has officially been with Team Croyde for a full year!

She's been an integral part of the team and her clinical knowledge is truly valuable to both our vision and mission as a company. In Zoe's own words, "reflecting on my first year at Croyde Medical, it’s been incredibly rewarding to combine my midwifery background with a role where I can play a part in shaping the equipment solutions available."

A year in and now we'd be lost without her - here's to another year ahead! ✨

A national, standardised Maternity Early Warning Score (MEWS) has been developed for rollout across England. ✨

Developed by clinical experts using real patient data, MEWS aims to improve accuracy and reduce false alerts compared to previous tools. Its implementation is supported through the NHS Maternal Care Bundle, which was published at the start of this year.

With the expectation that all maternity units will have fully implemented the tool by March 2027, this move towards a single national MEWS supports more consistent recognition and escalation of maternal deterioration across all care settings.
