As a common mental health condition that affects millions across the world, depression can be severely debilitating when left untreated. Regardless of age, background, gender, social status, and geographical location, the condition can affect anyone.💆‍♀️🧖‍♀️

Greatly affecting the quality of life of many people across the globe, depression is something that needs to be dealt with effectively. While there are medicated solutions to the problem, psychotherapy can be an equally effective, and safer, solution to depression.💆‍♂️🙎‍♂️

Mostly preferred by people who wish to avoid ingesting strong medications with potentially harmful side effects, psychotherapy is also known as talk therapy. Addressing the psychological and emotional tolls of the condition and working on them with an expert can be a great idea.

I am a qualified Meditation teacher and Reiki Master

I studied with the National College of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy www.hypnotherapyuk.net and am a member of their student and alumini guild which involved 1800 hours of Master’s Degree level degree training. I was awarded my diploma in 2008 when I completed a 12,000-word dissertation entitled ‘Anxiety and its Disorders’. I undertook training in all the main models of psychotherapy and counselling including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavioural therapy, gestalt, psychodynamic, humanistic, behavioural and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

Anxiety feels different for everyone.

Effects of anxiety on your body can include feeling nauseous, restless or unable to sit still. You might have headaches, backache or other aches and pains or maybe you notice your heart is beating noticeably fast. Hot flushes and sleeping problems, including not being able to sleep or sleeping too much and grinding your teeth, especially at night, are some signs. Having panic attacks is also a very obvious symptom of anxiety.

It’s not just your body though, it’s your mind that is affected by anxiety too…

Have you been feeling tense, nervous, depressed, lost or like you just cannot stop worrying or overthinking?

You’re not alone in feeling this way, 1 in 6 workers in the UK will experience depression, anxiety or problems relating to their mental health so this is not something to hide.
