Yesterday we started our preparations for Mothering Sunday 💐

Our lovely residents have been busy getting creative, making beautiful handmade cards for our special display. There was lots of laughter, colourful designs, and wonderful memories shared as everyone put their personal touch into their creations.

We can’t wait to showcase the finished display and celebrate all the amazing mums, grandmothers, and mother figures who mean so much to us 💖

❄️☀️ A Lovely Tuesday at Red Rose ☀️❄️

On Tuesday, we wrapped up warm and headed out for a lovely walk, enjoying some fresh air and making the most of the beautiful winter sun. It was wonderful to get outside and take in the crisp, bright day together.

In the afternoon, we slowed things down with some relaxing hand care, a little pampering and quiet time that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

A perfect balance of fresh air and relaxation… just the way we like it at Red Rose 💛

🎤The Power of Singing🎤

At Red Rose one of our favourite activities is a good old fashioned sing-a-long. 🎶

Music has a remarkable ability to connect us to our past, evoke emotion and bring people together.

Singing is more than just a joyful activity, it can have wonderful benefits for our residents living with dementia.
Music has a unique way of reaching parts of the brain linked to long-term memory, which means favourite songs can often be remembered even when other memories fade.
We are incredibly proud that our Activity Co-Ord's Dwane & Charlotte have completed the 'Singing for Memory' course, further strengthening the meaningful support we offer through music based activities.

We are also delighted to welcome Anna from Hear My Voice, a talented singer who specialises in leading group singing sessions for people living with dementia. Anna visits the first Friday of every month and family and friends are very welcome to join us.

Music continues to be a vital part of life at Red Rose, not just as entertainment, but as a powerful tool for comfort, connection and memory. 🎶💛

🌶️✨ A Wonderful Taste of India! ✨🌶️

Today our brilliant team truly cooked up a storm for our Taste of India session!
Our very talented members of staff lovingly prepared and brought in a homemade dish for us all to sample and what a treat it was!

We all not only loved trying the delicious new flavours, but also enjoyed learning about different cultures and the stories behind the dishes. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore something new together, sparking great conversation around the table.

The food was absolutely fantastic, and we can’t thank our amazing team enough for going out of their way to create such a special and tasty experience for everyone. 💛

❤️ Love Was in the Air! ❤️

Cupid’s arrows certainly found their way to us this Valentine’s Day! Our home was filled with music, laughter, and lots of love as we celebrated in style. 🌹

Each of our wonderful residents received beautiful red roses and handmade cards, spreading smiles all around.
We were also treated to a fantastic live performance from the very talented James Fry, who belted out classic love songs that had everyone singing along and reminiscing. 🎶

The smiles on our residents’ faces were truly heart-warming to see… and of course, no Valentine’s Day would be complete without a few delicious chocolates too! 🍫

Yesterday we had a wonderful visit from DB Animals 🐍🦎

They brought along a fascinating variety of animals, including a royal python snake, a skink, and a chameleon.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience, from learning interesting facts about each animal to bravely holding them!

The exotic visitors were certainly a highlight of the day, sparking lots of conversation, smiles, and even a few surprises. Thank you to DB Animals for such an engaging and memorable afternoon for everyone.

We had an amazing visit today from The Stormy Weather Boys, a fantastic sea shanty choir!
Our residents absolutely loved the music and joining in with the singing.
It was something a little different and brought lots of smiles and laughter.
A huge thank you to the Stormy Weather Boys for such an enjoyable and memorable afternoon 🎵
