Be more Dave, Start your day in the best way! 🐾

Now, not of all of Dave’s (my dog) habits are ones I’d recommend, but his morning routine? Well he’s nailed it and it’s one I think we could all benefit from.

Each morning, I wake him up and he stretches like a pro yogi, a few flawlessly executed down dogs. He then saunters outside, takes the feel of the grass under his paws and sits for a few minutes with his face basking in the sun for a few minutes before he heads in for a nice refreshing drink of water.

Dave’s routine isn’t just cute, it’s packed with benefits we could all reap the rewards of.

🧘‍♂️Stretching, kick starts your muscles and joints ready for the day ahead.

🌿 Grounding, spending time with you feet (or paws) on natural surfaces can reduce stress, improve your moved and boost your overall wellbeing

☀️ Morning sunlight, a few minutes of sunshine first thing helps regulate your body’s internal clock (circadian rhythm, boosts vitamin D and enhances your energy.

💧 Hydrate before you caffeinate. Drinking water right after you

wake up recharges your body and gets your metabolism going.

Unlike us, Dave doesn’t have a smart phone to distract him first thing in the morning, lucky dog. Avoiding your phone when you wake up has its own set of perks. Scrolling through emails or social media right away can spike stress levels, distract your mind and put you in a reactive state before your day has even started. Giving yourself a phone free window in the morning allows you to wake up gently, gives you time to set your intentions and provide a more mindful morning. ❌📱❌

So maybe its time we all follow by Dave’s example and start the day right!
