Tickets are now live for our Summer Solstice Celebration at The Burrow 🌞

Last year we gathered under the longest day (and what felt like the hottest day! moving, sitting by the fire, drifting between conversations, sound, and stillness.

We’ll be doing it again on 20 June.

A full day of the kinds of experiences that shape The Burrowβ€”breathwork, movement, gong, conversation, quiet moments, shared ones. You can dip in and out, follow what draws you, or simply be here.

This is our main fundraiser for the year. The ticket you choose helps keep this space going so we can continue to gather like this.

If you were there last year, you’ll know.
If you weren’t, this is your invitation. Tickets available on Humanitix - link in bio.

What is Beltane?

Beltane is a traditional Celtic festival that marks the beginning of the warmer season, usually observed around May 1st in the Northern Hemisphere. It is one of the four seasonal festivals, along with Imbolc, Lughnasadh, and Samhain. Beltane is often associated with the midpoint between the spring equinox and the summer solstice.

What's the Schedule?

This event will follow a schedule that includes some singing around the campfire, so please bring instruments, guitars, drums, cymbal, and most importantly a song if you have any!

We'll have a communal food table, so please bring something delicious to contribute!

It’s traditional at Beltane celebrations to perform the symbolic union of the May Queen and the King of the Forest. There are ten roles to this very short play. We’d love some of you to offer to play a part. There is audience involvement, and everyone will receive a script. As the God of the Forest and the May Queen dance around the fire, everyone else in the circle drum, clap, or chant - another reason to bring your drums! Beltane is the festival of fire and fertility, and as most country villages had a common or green, there was always room for celebration.

Beltane means 'fires of Bel' (Bel was a Celtic deity) and therefore is a celebration of fire. At 7.30pm, we will begin our procession to the burning of the wickerman. Before the event, we will send instructions on how to make a lantern if you wish, otherwise a jar with a candle inside is just as effective.

The evening shifts this time of year:

Lingering light
Stretched shadows
Space for things that didn’t fit in winter.

And in that space…
we come back out.
We stay a little longer.

β€œI wish I’d found this group years ago… it’s rare to find somewhere you can connect in a truly meaningful way.”

Sometimes it’s not about something new - just something that was missing for a while.

What the land quietly offers in a moment like this:

β€’ Blossom that arrives without urgency
β€’ Light that filters through, not demanding to be seen
β€’ Growth happening in the background, not announced
β€’ A softness that only appears when nothing is forced

There’s something about early bloom that the body recognises - not as spectacle, but as timing.

Not everything needs to open all at once.

Some things arrive gently, and that’s enough. 🌿

A small reminder from the trees: there’s no rush to become anything.

Three things that tend to return when we’re outside long enough:

β€’ conversation without effort
β€’ Unplanned movement
β€’ attention expanding beyond ourselves

It happens gradually, then all at once.
