Anyone else feeling somewhat overwhelmed? I find there is so much pressure in the new year to tick off all the things that I want to achieve ... get healthy and lose a bit of weight, blitz and declutter house, ramp up my business, be a better wife and mother ... the list goes on! And not surprisingly its all too much and I give up and don't achieve anything!
Well this year, I'm approaching things a bit differently... So I'm aiming for Progress and not Perfection. By chipping away at my list and looking back daily and seeing that I've actually achieved something I do feel I'm achieving something positive and I can keep going.
So for example - with getting healthy and losing weight ... I'm concentrating on making habits. My habit this week is drinking 2 litres of water a day. Im doing this by drinking one glass before I eat my meal, and one during the meal. Ive actually finished 1 litre by 10.30am! Plus by drinking water before and during the meal, it actually filled me up and I ended up not eating so much! win win .... To create a habit you need to repeat something about 30 times ... so if I do this with every meal then it should be reinforced as a habit by 10 days time ... that's actually not that far away!!!

When diffusing with pets around, dont forget that cats and dogs have many more olfactory receptors than ours. Cats sense of smell is approximately 14 times greater than humans, and dogs a whopping 40 times greater! They will be breathing in these same oils as well so its important to stick to the following.
1. Always diffuse in a room where your pet can leave if he/she wants to.
2. Keep your diffuser in a place where your pet cannot knock it over.
3. There are certain oils that should be used with caution with dogs and cats. This means limiting the amount of drops and closely observing your pet for any reactions (such as panting when not hot or exercised, or showing signs of distress).
DOGS:
Tea tree, Cassia, Cinnamon, Oregano and Thyme.
CAT: Tea tree, Cassia, Cinnamon, Oregano, Thyme, Peppermint, Spearmint, Birch and Wintergreen.
If your animal is showing signs of distress, stop your diffuser and get your pet to fresh air quickly. If the symptoms continue please contact your vet. Please share with your pet loving friends. Thank you!

So just a little update on me .... as you know I've been pretty open about my struggles coping with the symptoms of perimenopause... from weight gain, hair loss, incredible joint pain, night sweats, brain fog, tinnitus, itchy skin and possibly worse of all off the scale irritability! My husband and the girls literally have to take cover as there is no warning as to when I'm going to lose it! Anyway, as well as finding some amazing products that have really helped me (message me if you are interested)... I've decided that this area is so fascinating that I've signed up to learn how to be a health and weight loss coach as nutrition can play a major part in controlling the symptoms. I will be able to coach everyone but one key area I want to specialise in is perimenopause and menopause! Don't worry, I'll still be doing all things Freya Natural Therapy and this is on top! Its a 10 month course and I will definitely need some guinea pigs a bit later on so drop me a message if you are up for it! Wish me luck!!!
