Wow, why does glute bridge feel so amazing?". That's what everyone keeps saying!

It strengthens the glutes, hamstrings and core, also improves lumbar-pelvic mobility and posture. It is a low-impact exercise that helps lengthen hip flexors, supports spinal stability and is great for people who sit for long periods. Try it, you will feel amazing!

🐈 Pilates Cat Stretch is basically your spine’s way of saying, “Ahhh, thank you, I really needed that.” Once you start, you suddenly realise just how much your spine has been craving a good release. It’s especially helpful for peri-menopausal bodies that can feel a little tighter, achier, or like they’ve done a full day’s work before breakfast (even when all you did was wake up ).

As you gently round and lengthen your back, you’re creating space between the vertebrae, easing tension in the shoulders and hips and supporting a calmer nervous system, making those unexpected mood swings or heated moments just a bit easier to move through.

When you try this, there will be a moment mid-stretch where you think, “Wow… why does this feel so good, why didn’t I start doing this years ago?”

This week, we turned down the inner heat and turned up the calm. Our focus was on hot flushes and how the power of the breath can bring balance back to the body.

We practised the 4-7-8 relaxing breath, a simple yet transformative technique that helps you cool from the inside out, settle the nervous system and invite a sense of ease like a gentle breeze moving through on a warm summer’s day.

We closed with a deeply restorative meditation from Leanne, which left everyone floating in calm, the perfect ending to a mindful session.

Our next 6-session Peri Pilates program begins 13th January and it’s just £50. If you would love to understand your body, move through menopause with confidence and discover how movement and breath can support you, these sessions are right up your street.
