Gingerbread houses have been a festive favourite for generations. Whether you build a perfect showpiece or start nibbling the walls before you finish, it’s all part of the fun.
The tradition began in Germany in the 1800s and grew from the story of Hansel and Gretel. Since then, families everywhere have made gingerbread houses a cosy holiday activity shared with parents, grandparents and children.
