Why we squeeze our pelvic floor on the out breath to enhance the strength…

When we breathe in:

⭐️ The diaphragm moves downwards
⭐️ The pelvic floor lowers slightly
⭐️ The muscles between the ribs move the ribs outwards
⭐️ This increases the space within the chest cavity
⭐️ The lungs expand in to this space filling with air

✨So there is a downward pressure on the pelvic floor on a breath in ✨

On a breath out:

⭐️The diaphragm rises up
⭐️The pelvic floor moves upwards with a gentle contraction
⭐️The ribs move inwards
⭐️We breathe air out

✨So there is naturally an upward contraction on the pelvic floor on an EXHALE✨

✨We consciously engage our pelvic floor during this natural contraction on the exhale to enhance and optimise the strength and control effectively✨

I love helping mums rehabilitate post pregnancy and birth.

The body is the most amazing thing. Adapting in so many ways to carry a little, sometimes not so little 😊 baby.

Pregnancy is so different from person to person. There’s no one way for everyone here. We all have our different experiences and things go according to plan and sometimes they don’t quite follow the plan.

Life after pregnancy is also very different for all of us. Again, one size doesn’t fit all. We all change at different rates and we have all been through our own unique journeys to get where we are today.

One thing we do know is that healing is paramount in the initial phases post birth. So many nutrients have been lost in the process of birth that we are generally depleted. Prioritising ourselves is proven to be one of the last things done on a new mums list. It is sometimes hard to even find the time to shower so thinking about how to optimise our own recovery is last on the list.

I want to help as many mums feel CONFIDENT, feel EMPOWERED, understand what you CAN DO, make a POSITIVE IMPACT on your WELL-BEING, and ultimately OPTIMISE THE PROCESS OF PROGRESSING TOWARDS YOUR GOALS.
