Weβre now looking for a Receptionist to join our team at Bridge Haven Care Home in Canterbury β someone who will be the welcoming face of our home and help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
β¨ Your Mission
As our Receptionist, youβll be the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and professionals. Youβll play a vital role in creating a positive first impression while supporting the home with important administrative tasks.
Your energy, organisation, and friendly personality will help ensure every day runs seamlessly.
π What Youβll Be Doing
π¦ Keeping Things Running Smoothly
Managing supply orders and deliveries
Matching invoices with delivery notes and forwarding them for payment
Ensuring equipment and resources are available where needed
π Being the Welcoming Face of Avante
Greeting visitors and providing a warm, professional first impression
Showing visitors around the home when required
Maintaining a tidy, welcoming reception area
Offering refreshments and hospitality to guests
π Managing Communication
Handling incoming and outgoing mail
Answering telephone calls promptly and professionally
Logging new enquiries
Supporting administrative tasks such as photocopying and preparing ID cards
π Supporting Events and Engagement
Assisting with planning and hosting social events
Contacting guests and tracking responses
Preparing rooms and helping organise event spaces
π Everyday Essentials
Directing relatives and visitors to the correct suites
Recording and passing messages to staff and residents
Ensuring all visitors sign in
Signing for deliveries and checking items when required

Maintaining confidentiality at all times
Following Health & Safety procedures
Supporting Equality & Diversity policies
Attending mandatory training and supporting the smooth running of the home
π€ What Weβre Looking For
Essential Skills
β Friendly, confident communication skills
β Strong organisational and administrative abilities
β Understanding of basic filing systems
β Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
β Professional and courteous telephone manner
β Well-presented and confident greeting visitors
β Willingness to undertake relevant training
β Ability to work independently
Desirable
β Previous reception or administrative experience
β NVQ Level 2 in Administration or similar qualification
