Today, we had the honour of travelling to Cam Valley Crematorium to mark the final journey of a much-loved gentleman.

He had a deep love for the Salvation Army, often visiting Corps across the East of England, where he could be found enjoying the uplifting sound of the Salvation Army Band.

Within the Cam Valley Chapel, family and friends gathered together to remember and celebrate the life of a dear friend.

We have recently been able to support the family of a much-loved gentleman. Devoted to Ipswich Town F.C. and a season ticket holder since the mid-1980s, it was our privilege to take him on his final trip to the ground.

As we entered the chapel with his coffin draped in the Ipswich Town colours, his friends stood together in remembrance and memory of a dear friend. It was a moving moment that reflected the deep friendships built over many years of shared match days, laughter, and loyalty to the club he loved so dearly.

Football was more than a game to him — it was community, tradition, and countless memories spent supporting the team through every season. Being able to honour that lifelong passion as part of his final journey was truly special.

A devoted supporter, a loyal friend, and someone who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Smith Funeral Directors opened in 2023 as a fully independent funeral director, here to support the Felixstowe community with personal, compassionate care.

You’ll find our small funeral home on the parade of shops on Undercliff Road West, right between The Family Café and Undercliff Laundry Services.
