Today we’re marking World Prematurity Day, a time to recognise the strength of babies born too soon, their families, and the staff who support them.
At Gateshead Health Maternity, we’re proud of our neonatal and maternity teams who care for our tiniest patients with compassion and dedication every day.

World Prematurity Day and Baby Week Events! 💜

We've got a busy week ahead with the Tiny Lives Team! Kicking off tomorrow, Baby Week starts with a Rhyme Time Dad’s Group at Riverside Family Hub South Shields, we'll also be at Eldon Square on Sunday and Monday with a stall to mark World Prematurity Day and Tiny Lives Staff and Ward 35 Staff will be at the Pitcher and Piano on Monday from 16:00 - 19:00 as we watch our beautiful bridges lit up to celebrate World Prematurity Day! 🥰

All events are free to attend and we'd love to see you sometime in the next week! 🌟

Meet, Chat, Learn - Booking now open! ✨

Our Meet, Chat, Learn groups are exclusively for neonatal families. These free to access parent-baby groups offer a chance to learn techniques to assist you with your little one, including baby massage, baby yoga and sensory classes. Connect with parents who understand your journey, share experiences, and find support. Our groups offer a welcoming space for you and your baby to bond and thrive together. Build lasting friendships and learn from others who are in the same stage of parenthood. ⬇

Did you know, there are a number of charities dedicated to supporting families who have sadly lost a little one? 💛

Sands - baby loss charity is the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity. They are always there to support anyone and everyone touched by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

Footprints Baby Loss provides vital support to parents and families who experience the death of one or more of their twins or triplets before, during or after birth.

You can also find resources on Bliss website including charities and support in your area.
