** A BIT ABOUT ME AND PRICE LIST**

I founded my massage business in 1999 I have an established and regular client base which has grown through personal recommendations. I provide massage, facial skin care therapies and work as a fully qualified Ayurveda Health Consultant. Working from my own therapy room tucked away in a mini woodland area of my garden this setting ensures privacy and peace and quiet to enable you enjoy the full benefit of your chosen therapy. I also work with younger and older people providing massage therapy and armchair exercise in residential and dementia care homes settings.

*MASSAGE THERAPY*

Massage has many benefits and is often chosen for deep relaxation. However, massage offers many other benefits which include:

• easing stiffness and increasing flexibility
• improving the circulation of blood and removing toxins from the
body
• removing aches and pains
• aiding breathing through relaxation
• making you feel vibrant and energetic -
enhancing the feeling of overall well-being
• promotes feelings of calmness and
reduces anxiety levels

*What to expect at your first visit*
The first therapy will consist of a free consultation when a medical and overall history of your needs will be taken. If you have a medical condition that is complex, we may need to consult your GP to ensure they are in agreement before your chosen therapy can be carried out. Once the chosen therapy is carried out and completed you will be given time to enjoy the treatment and leave feeling relaxed and restored.

*After-care*
Following the completion of your chosen massage, advice and after-care information will be given to ensure you receive the maximum benefit from your therapy.

*Massage for Relaxation and Well-being*
Massage actually speeds up the natural healing process by creating a calming of the mind and settling of emotions; aiding healing and modern day stresses (including sitting exams) that cause backache, headaches and migraines, constipation, fluid retention (swollen ankles and legs), lack of energy, poor skin tone, emotional distress and feelings of fear, anger and frustration.

*Massage for Illness*
Healthcare systems throughout the world recognise that massage can play an important role in treating illness. In particular, holistic therapies that include massage have been of significant help; especially in connection with disease caused by personal stresses and associated with modern day living, that cause discomfort and personal distress. Regular massage has proven benefits in supporting the well-being in those persons suffering from asthma and related breathing difficulties through the use of specific massage techniques.

*Massage and Older Age*
Massage is particularly valuable as a therapy for problems that are associated with rising age. Reduced mobility, arthritis, poor circulation, aches, pains and stiffness all benefit from a massage therapy. Regular massage provides the toning and relaxing benefits which will enable older adults to continue their active interests more comfortably and confidently. Massage in older age is comforting and reassuring for those persons who have become isolated through loss of relationships. Hand massage is a particularly soothing therapy for an older person and those suffering with memory loss and dementia.

*Massage for Injury*
Massage has now become established as an effective therapy for sports persons and dancers. Regular massage helps to reduce muscle tightness and soreness after strenuous activity and restore the muscle group. Those person’s involved in manual and physical work find massage useful in easing tightness and aches and pains. A personalised massage therapy plan is always assessed prior to being carried out to ensure the most effective massage therapies are offered to support individual needs.

😊Happy Random Act of Kindness Day😊

Today is Random Act of Kindness Day

In the world today, kindness is so important. There is a lot of negativity out there at the moment and a random act of kindness can expel that and turn someone's day right around.

Give someone a call and let them know you are there. Send someone an email and check on their day. See if someone needs support if they are stuck indoors. Offer your expertise where you can and as necessary.

Kindness is free and something that should come freely 💕

This week I have spoken with a client about the darkness experienced at this time of year - getting up when it is dark and early dark evenings and we talked about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which she felt was the cause of feeling tired, suffering headaches and feeling unmotivated. SAD is not uncommon and can leave a person feeling quite low. Another of my clients feels that having a light box has helped enormously and going out for a walk with someone, walking your dog and being out in natural light are lifestyle measures that do help and work to help reduce symptoms.

I was able to support my client sharing information and listening to what she wanted from our time together. I carried out massage and energy work to aid muscular needs and relax the body, mind and soul and worked on relieving sinus pressure. My client reported feeling less achy, calm, relaxed and refreshed afterwards and ‘spaced out’. It is always such a honour to help someone with their overall well-being and I feel very blessed and fortunate to do this and love what I do.

It is encouraging to know the start of February marks the end of Winter and the start of Spring and that the symptoms will disappear as the season changes.

If you feel you are experiencing symptoms related to SAD you may like to read more about this at:

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that comes and goes in a seasonal pattern.SAD is sometimes known as "winter depression" because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter. Some people with SAD may have symptoms during the summer and feel better....

Imbolc Day 1st February 2024.

Hello February and the start of Spring and new blessings as we today embrace Imbolc which is celebrated as one of the 8 Pagan festivals and means 'in the belly' referring to the sowing of the first seeds into the earth and a time to acknowledge the start of Spring.

On this day we celebrate the first days of Spring as snowdrops and early spring flowers start to appear, animals begin to awaken from hibernation and the nights get shorter and days become longer. The weather starts to get warmer and winter snows and frost thaw out and we start to see the sun appearing more and feel its energy return.

There are a number of things you can do to celebrate Imbolc that is a Celtic fire festival that includes lighting a small fire and making wishes for the year ahead, cleaning your home of clutter and getting rid of the old to make way for the new. You can plant seeds to bloom in the Spring and Summer and cleanse your home of any negative energies using a sage smudge stick.

Imbolc is a time for contemplation to think about mistakes and successes we have learnt from the previous year to help manifest and achieve dreams, goals and desires for the year ahead. So not only can you plant seeds to grow in your garden, you can plant seeds in your mind to enable you to blossom and grow throughout the Spring and months ahead and be your best you.

Wishing you many happy blessings on this Imbolc day and every day.

New Year resolutions rarely work as you need to do something for 21 days to make it a habit. I love this post by Earthmonk which reiterates much of what I share with my clients about self care, being kind to yourself and enjoying a moment to just be. I wish for you to make these your New Year resolutions which are manageable, loving and so beneficial to our overall wellbeing. Do try and enjoy lots🌟

Maybe this year instead of resolutions write yourself a list of gentle goals. Include simple pleasures, things that really interest you as well as anything that gladdens your heart and nourishes you in mind, body and spirit?

As we start 2024 I want to wish you a year of many blessings full of love, joy and happiness. A very big thank you to my...
