A monthly calming story and play time group is starting next month. Held at Ferndown Library on the third Wednesday of each month between 11.15 and 11.45 am - starts March 18th. Call Ferndown Library on 01202 874542 or email ferndownlibrary@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.

SENsational Story and Play is coming Wednesday 18 March!

We’re excited to launch a new, quieter and fully inclusive story and play time designed especially for families with children who may have additional needs.
Join us for a gentle, interactive session featuring a short story, a nursery rhyme, and a range of sensory activities and toys to explore.
Children do not need a formal diagnosis to attend, this is a welcoming space for anyone who may benefit from a calmer more accessible session.

Lights will be dimmed, and you’re welcome to take part in as much or as little as feels right for your child.

Even if you’d just like to get to know the library and staff at a quieter time, we’d love to see you.

FREE SLOW COOKER at our Warm & Well Workshop in February at the Somerford ARC Community Centre
Due to the success of the January workshops, we have added a new date for February: Monday 9th February 10am-12.00pm

Following on from the success of our previous Warm & Well workshops we have added another date for a morning workshop in February. With the increasing costs of energy prices, utility bills and foods we have worked hard to tailor a workshop that will focus on ways to combat them.

You’ll discuss & learn how to shop seasonally, grow your own food indoors, meal prep & batch cooking, use surplus food websites & apps, cook energy efficiently, cut down on food waste and more. During the sessions you will also be given recipes and a selection of ingredients to be able to create your own delicious meals at home along with ideas of planting & growing your own produce.

Every workshop attendee will receive a FREE Slow Cooker but spaces are limited so be sure to book your place now.
To book or for further information please email Lydia.harvey@dorsetcommunityaction.org.uk or call: 07421994591
We are really excited to be able to deliver these free workshops and want to thank Dorset Community Foundation and the BCP food & energy support fund who have enabled us to run them again.

We’re looking for someone who’s welcoming, organised and confident, with previous reception or admin experience — ideally in a GP practice or community setting. Good IT skills, great people skills and the ability to use your own initiative are really important in this role.

If you enjoy working with patients, being part of a supportive team and making a real difference day to day, we’d love to hear from you 💙
