We recognise that this change may be challenging for some patients. If you have concerns about your diet or managing coeliac disease, please get in touch with the practice.

📢 Changes to gluten-free food on NHS prescriptions
Following national guidance, NHS Dorset has recently requested that our GP practices cease prescribing gluten-free foods. This is because NHS Dorset has one of the highest expenditures on gluten-free products in the country, despite having a relatively small population, and the NHS must ensure that funding is used in ways that benefit as many people as possible.

What does this mean for you?
Gluten-free products are now widely available in supermarkets and online. If you rely on gluten-free foods, you will still be able to purchase them directly, but they will no longer be provided on NHS prescription.

If you need support with managing coeliac disease or your diet, don't hesitate to get in touch with your GP practice.

Thank you for your understanding as we work together to maximise the use of NHS resources for the entire Dorset community. For more information, visit the NHS Dorset website here:

ℹ️Important Vaccination information for patientsℹ️
Flu season has arrived early this year — and it’s already hitting hard.
Cases are 3x higher than this time last year, and many people are falling ill sooner than expected. Protect yourself and the people you care about.

For eligible patients who haven’t had their winter vaccinations yet, it’s not too late! We have a COVID-19 and Flu vaccine clinic organised for Monday, 17th November, at our Glenmoor Road surgery.

📞 Contact us on 01202 874302 to book your slot.

Let’s stay healthy this winter, together. 💙🍂

Living Well Taking Control is hosting a free webinar on Cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes Prevention on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, from 12:00 to 12:40 pm.

This session is designed for patients who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes but have not yet accessed the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP). We are particularly keen to engage patients from deprived areas, ethnic minority backgrounds, younger demographics, and those with a history of gestational diabetes, as these groups are at higher risk.

Why is this important?

Early intervention can significantly reduce the likelihood of Type 2 diabetes and its complications, improve long-term health outcomes and reduce strain on healthcare services. Through this webinar, attendees will:

✔ Learn more about how managing cholesterol can help reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

✔ Discover the long-term benefits of addressing prediabetes early to prevent progression to type 2 diabetes and other associated health concerns.

✔ More practical tips on lifestyle changes including healthy eating, managing stress, improving sleep and enhancing your environment.

✔ Discover free NHS resources available to support lifestyle changes
