More generator bulk storage is prepped for despatch from our Ferryhill logistics centre, near Durham. This time a 66,500 litre steel bunded is destined for a standby power generation project at a Newcastle hospital.

All such tanks are blueprinted by Atlantis prior to manufacturer. This ensures high quality, compliant production that is faithful to our client's specific storage requirements.

Our client chose to fit their own pump sets and fuel polishers and the connections visible inside the security cabinet interior reflect this. They also chose these optional accessories:

- Roller Shutter Door (instead of the standard swing door)
- 2" Overfill Limiter Valve which helps above-ground tanks being overfilled
- Removable Drop Tube Assembly, a unique Atlantis accessory which allows for easier servicing of the foot valve and strainer located at the bottom of the inner tank.

This 30,000 litre now fuels a Scottish lowland distillery.

The pipework that you see both inside the security cabinet and also on top of the tank connect the security cabinet with the inner tank. Customer required the following connections (from left to right):

- 2" Fill Pipe fitted with a lever ball valve (cabinet) and overfill prevention valve (inner tank)
- 2" Feed pipe with Removable Drop Tube (drop tube in inner tank)
- 2" Return Pipe
- 2" Feed pipe with Removable Drop Tube
- 2" Return Pipe
- 2" Feed pipe with Removable Drop Tube
- 2" Return Pipe

A 610mm manway is also specified and visible. Sending a man down into a tank is fraught with safety risks but, thankfully, each of the 3 feed pipes includes an Atlantis removable drop tube. The removable nature of the tubes reduces the number of descents into the tank by maintenance crew.

Our drop tubes are unique in the market and liberate 3 benefits for customers:

i). Easy replacement of strainer if blocked by sludge
ii). Reduce maintenance costs and tank downtime
iii). Easier to prime the system

⭐ Employee of the Month: Rob Stafford ⭐

Meet Rob Stafford, Atlantis’ Star of the Month for September!

Rob plays an integral role in our made-to-order sales team, supporting several industry sectors — including many of our clients.

Few people in the company can do what Rob does. His expertise in producing highly detailed CAD drawings is second to none, and he’s been instrumental in developing our new Imperium® tank ranges, which has been gathering real momentum since its August launch.

✈️ Fun fact: Rob can also fly a plane — and he’s known for 'landing' some of the corniest jokes you’ll ever hear! 😂

Thanks, Rob, for your hard work, precision, and sense of humour. The sky’s the limit!

This week, a made-to-order 17,300 litre steel bunded diesel storage tank was delivered to another customer in East Anglia, painted in a fetching shade of Saddle Brown.

It was supplied with:
- A Duplex Pump Set rated at 90 litres per minute
- A Fill Point Cabinet including an Overfill Prevention Valve (OPV)
- Anti-Corrosion Protective Coating System (C5 High)
- Multi-Compartment Fuel Tank Alarm system with triple functions:
i). Detect and warn of a tank overfill
ii). High/low tank contents level; and
iii). Detect leakage into the bund

The OPV overfill limiter and the alarm system provides dual protection against spills during filling of the tank.
Our customer, a power generation company specialising in industrial and marine generators, is clearly taking their environmental responsibilities seriously.

Final check before delivering a made-to-order 50,000 litre steel bunded . This tank is going to a plant hire and groundworks customer in East Anglia with the following pre-fitted options:

- Security cabinet & lockable roller shutter for security of stored contents
- Dual 85 L/min pumps feeding dual fuel management systems for efficient diesel dispensing
- 10 Driver fobs to control and record diesel dispensed
- Dual pump filters to clean the fuel of particles and water down to less than 10 microns in diameter
- 10m hose reels with nozzles; like having your own private diesel forecourt
- 610mm manway access for easy maintenance

Customer will make significant cost savings on the bulk purchase of diesel for their vehicles. They will also make significant gains from productivity benefits of fuelling company vehicles on site.

Today marks , a reminder that food insecurity isn’t just a distant problem — it affects families here in East Anglia too.

Atlantis Tanks has made a donation through Campus & Co. Dereham to support the North Norfolk Foodbank. Their volunteers distribute essential food and household items across Cromer, Holt, Aylsham, Sheringham, and North Walsham, helping local people when they need it most.

We’re sharing this not for applause, but to recognise the dedication of the volunteers and community partners who make this work possible. Their quiet efforts deserve the spotlight today.
