The Care Connect alarm service helps bridge that worry by providing around‑the‑clock monitoring and emergency support — so they’re never truly alone.

Just one button press on their pendant connects them instantly to trained staff who know their name, address, emergency contacts, and medical needs. If needed, mobile responders are dispatched to their home.

Durham County Council’s Telecare service offers smart, 24/7 monitored sensors that can detect falls, fires, wandering, seizures and other emergencies — giving you peace of mind even when you can’t be there.

Telecare can support people who:
✔ Are at risk of falls
✔ Live with dementia and may leave home at unsafe times
✔ Can’t always call for help
✔ Are at risk of fires, seizures, or hypothermia

With round‑the‑clock monitoring and mobile responders trained in first aid, you can feel confident your parent is supported 365 days a year.

If you’re worried about coping once you return home, Durham County Council’s FREE Home from Hospital service offers up to 6 weeks of practical support to help you settle back in.

This includes light meals, warming your home, a meet‑and‑greet on discharge, prescription collection, light housework, pop‑ins, and help with paperwork or appointments.

✔ 18.5 hours per week
✔ Working Weds PM, Thursdays and Fridays
✔ £26,403 to £28,598 p.a pro rata to hours worked

💼 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴:
✔ Working as part of a small, supportive team to promote independent living.
✔ Acting as a key point of contact for discussing appropriate telecare equipment.
✔ Coordinating the installation and maintenance of telecare sensors.
✔ Assist with initial inquiries from locality assessment staff including queries, suitability and correspondence.
