Gut Feelings

Gut Feelings Gut Feelings Kombucha is a raw, naturally fermented tea flavoured with high quality fruit & herbs.

Gut Feelings Kombucha is an effervescent fermented tea made with a passion for good quality ingredients. Kombucha has detoxification and probiotic qualities, making it a great addition to a healthy diet as it contributes towards gut health. Carefully selected fruit and herbs are introduced for an enhanced nutritional profile in each flavour. Gut Feelings runs on a low waste business model, achieved by setting up Refill Stations where bottles can be refilled as and when needed. A small bottle range is also on offer through which new and seasonal flavours can be experienced.

Yes, you should feel really bad.

Riddled with guilt in fact. Every time you put a Gut Feelings bottle or jar in the bin. What an unnecessary waste.

We are committed to keeping our process as low waste as possible which is why we have in place a very efficient bottle return scheme. You can return ANY empty bottle or jar of ours to any location which sells it and they will return it to us.

Some places offer a cheeky discount of 25p off of your next full bottle. Other places you are simply returning it with no payback. But surely the payment of knowing you are a sound individual taking steps to reduce waste is payment enough...

Thank you to those who put the effort into doing this. And for those that put our bottles in the bin even with all this in place...I have big feelings towards it honestly, and not good ones.

Go forth and be sound.

My words of the year.

For those who have followed my very wordy posts over the years, you will know that I always label each year with a word or two which I can refer back to in the hope of keeping on track.

Last years words were consistency & diversify. The consistency element was a BIG tick in terms of our Kombucha process but a definite cross in terms of the food hub. However, we made up for that lack by giving a BIG tick for diversification as so many new creations were developed within this space in 2025 that can carry through into this year.

2026 is the year of commitment and finally having some trust in the business I have created.

Those of you who know me well will know that I have been consistently juggling around 5 different jobs for the entirety of the Gut Feelings journey. Any small business owner will know that it takes A LOT to rely solely on your growing business and I have always preferred to keep investing in Gut Feelings and growing a stable team than pay myself a wage.

But this year comes change. I have stepped away from all other work that is non Kombucha, fermentation or gut health related. This is the year of Gut Feelings. A year to (finally) commit to this business, trust in what has been created and hope that it can sustain my life too.

7 years of business...fingers crossed.

If you ken, you ken...

What sits within this very little bowl has been one of the main things within my focus these last 6 months or so. The development of a new product and a different take on a ferment that folks are growing to know and love in this country.

I am getting EXTREMELY close to being able to announce its arrival on local fridge shelves. And I am very very very excited to be able to do so.

But for now, I leave you with tempting thoughts of what on earth I am on about. Think spicy, but also quite Scottish, whilst simultaneously tickling your tastebuds in a way that the predominant vegetable has likely never tickled your mouth before.

Yum yum, ken yersel.

We are a low waste business!

And I am incredibly proud of it.

When I started Gut Feelings, I was so sure that I only ever wanted to do Kombucha Refill Stations because I could not handle the thought of heaps of bottles going in the bin.

But alas, it turns out that a bottle return system is not only very straightforward but people are REALLY into it. The amount of waste that is avoided through this system is more than you may realise.

On top of that, the Refill Stations have literally no waste at all as the kegs are washed and refilled - and absolutely solid so never need to be fully replaced.

Now with the introduction of new products, everything we sell comes in a vessel that we really reaaaallly want you to wash and return.

Thanks to everyone who is so on board with this ethos. Helping our health whilst keeping the environment in mind!

Non Kombucha related rant.

When did it become normal to use ch*tgpt for everything? Not only have I found myself increasingly in rooms with people talking completely normally about the multitude of ways they utilise it but now my feed has become full of AI generated images.

Is this the start of artistry and creativity being passed into the 'hands' of AI? Alongside everything else is now has of us?

It is absolutely bonkers to me how abnormal it is to have a strong opinion against the use of these bots. The reasoning of AI just does it much faster or that it knows all the answers just does not sit right in my heed.

Perhaps it doesn't seem like a big deal but it feels a slippy slope to me. Look at what has happened to human brains as a result of having smartphones. Once upon a time, not so very long ago, it was not normal or needed to have one. Now, most people would rather have it strapped to their foreheads than have a minute without their phone.

The speed at which we can become so reliant on technology terrifies me. Yes, maybe AI can create an image for you or give you all the answers under the sun in minutes (seconds??) but our brains also have that ability, with a bit of patience!

Live Kombucha Vinegar.

Have you tried it? You can buy it from , , , and

What do you do with it?
I personally like to have it in my morning electrolyte drink, as a salad dressing or as a vinegar brine for cold pickling. It is deeeelish. Think similar to your live apple cider vinegar but with a different profile of microbes.

I enjoy mixing it up a bit, some mornings I will have apple cider vinegar and other mornings Kombucha vinegar. Doing this means my body is getting access to the different acids and microbes, all of which provide varying benefits. Maintaining variety, even just by choosing a different source of vinegar, is a great way to encourage diversity within the microbiome.

Kombucha is everywhere now, but why drink it?

Here we are in 2026, where your options for Kombucha seem almost endless. Glass bottles in the fridge, cans on warm shelves and even kombucha teabags. I reminisce back to 2019 when Gut Feelings was born and nae'body had a clue what the word 'Kombucha' meant.

But do people really know now? I'm not so sure as the word Kombucha is plastered all over cheap products that, from what I know the word to mean, make no sense at all!

Gut Feelings Kombucha is a live & naturally fermented tea drink. Our Kombucha has been tested in a lab in Edinburgh, showing it is very much alive! It comes with a wee tickle of fizz, some months more than others. We use real herbs and fruit, nae extracts or artificial what-nots to be seen.

Because of the way we brew and the real ingredients that we use, drinking our Kombucha gives you access to; live microbes, acids that are supportive for digestion AND the nutrients & fibres found in the ingredients used.

A wee heeds up. This description above cannot be photocopied to everything that says Kombucha on it.

A drink that is sat on a warm shelf is not alive, otherwise it would have exploded! If you are drinking for gut health purposes, always chose the ones that only ever live in the fridge.

A drink that has artificial sweeteners or flavourings in it IS NOT GOOD for your gut. Our gut microbes despise artificial. If anything, you are doing your gut harm by consuming these drinks.

Be careful out there folks. Your gut microbes may be all powerful and strong but they are also very sensitive!

Fermented Food Hub, update...

The food hub was always going to be a bit experimental to figure out what the space was meant for. Unfortunately, serving food from this space is not working out currently for a few different reasons.

However, I have a real strong drive for the fermented vegetables and the aim is to begin selling them further afield in 2026. We do also have a new product in the making, aiming for a January release.

The character of this space may change with time as I begin growing my own vegetables but as it stands the food offerings are not working out time/popularity wise. Thank you to everyone who has supported it so far.
