🍰 Food Tasting Day at the Manor Barn 😋

Recently we were joined by Rachel from HILS West Sussex and Lucinda from Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove who kindly hosted a lovely food tasting session at Manor Barn Care Home bringing residents together to explore different flavours, share their thoughts and most importantly enjoy the moment.

From curious first bites to familiar favourites, it was wonderful to see smiles, conversations and a real sense of community around the table.

Moments like these are what make our home feel truly special 💛

🌟 HILS & Age UK Pop-Up Tasting Event at Manor Barn Care Home 🌟

Everyone is warmly welcome to join us for a relaxed and friendly afternoon of good food, great company, and helpful local support.

Come along to sample a selection of nutritious meals provided by HILS – Health and Independent Living Support, and meet the teams from HILS and Age UK.

HILS supports people to live independently at home with services including Meals on Wheels and wellbeing checks, while Age UK offers advice, guidance, and practical support for older people and their families, from benefits and financial advice to social activities and community services.

You’ll also have the chance to meet Marie, our Care Manager, and her team, along with Kate, our Community Engagement Manager, who will be on hand to welcome you, answer your questions, and talk through the support available.

☕ Enjoy friendly conversation in a welcoming atmosphere, we look forward to seeing you there.

Residents at Manor Barn took part in a pleasant gardening activity, helping to build on our vegetable pots for the upcoming spring and summer season. They enjoyed getting hands-on with the soil, planting and watering, while chatting with staff and one another. The session created a calm and positive atmosphere, encouraging both social interaction and sensory engagement. Residents showed interest and enthusiasm, and are looking forward to caring for and watching the plants develop. 🥕🍅🪴💦🌞

💜 Today on Epilepsy Awareness Day, we’re proud to stand in support of our team members living with epilepsy. 💜

At Manor Barn Care Home, we are committed to creating a safe, understanding and inclusive workplace for everyone. We’re proud to share that our staff are trained to recognise the signs of epilepsy and respond quickly and appropriately, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both our colleagues and residents.

We are especially grateful to the members of our team who live with epilepsy and continue to inspire us with their strength and dedication every day.

By raising awareness, supporting one another and fostering open conversations, we continue to build a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported and safe.

🌸 Manor Barn Spring Party🌸

We had a wonderful time celebrating the arrival of spring here at Manor Barn Care Home! The morning was spent appreciating the season and planting new seeds that we can’t wait to watch grow over the coming weeks 🌱

The one and only Dawn Gracie - Dawn's Vintage Do returned with another fantastic, lively performance that had everyone smiling and singing along 🎶

After all the excitement, we enjoyed a well-deserved relax with a lovely afternoon tea. A perfect day filled with music, laughter, and the joy of spring! 🌷☕
