What a weekend in Fishguard! 🌿⚓

Saturday was the Fishguard Food Festival - a feast of local, sustainable delights (and yes, we tasted everything... for research purposes, of course). I joined a foraging walk along the Marine path, gathering wild herbs and berries to make a winter tonic and the healthiest tea I’ve ever brewed.

Sunday was “upper body day” for Andrew - rowing around the harbour while I heroically supervised from the back of the boat 😇. From the water, we got the best view of the magnificent Spanish Galleon Andalucía docked in Fishguard Bay.

A weekend full of local flavour, fresh air, and a touch of adventure - just how we like it at New Dawn 🌊💚

🌟 Meet Aled – Our brilliant Marketing Manager (and my son!) here at New Dawn 🌿

✂️ What was your go-to hairstyle in your teens?
Full-on emo fringe. Vision through one eye only… unless I threw in a dramatic head swish. What a time to be alive.

⏳ If you could time travel to any decade which would it be?
Back to 160AD when Marcus Aurelius was emperor of Rome. He was an incredible philosopher with a beautiful work ethic and approach to leadership that I’d love to experience first-hand. Pretty niche, I know.

☕ Tea or coffee?
I’m a proud coffee snob - preferably a long black because americanos are way too watery. Right now, I’m loving Hard Lines’ House Party through my French Press. Wow, I probably need to take a long, hard look at myself.

🎶 Song that lifts your mood?
Around the Bend by Joe Bonamassa – takes me back to my happiest childhood moments and makes me feel incredibly hopeful and optimistic every time I hear it.

🌄 How would you spend a whole weekend to yourself?
Adventure! Hiking the Skirrid or Sugar Loaf in South Wales, or off on a mini Euro trip (latest was Basel, Switzerland).

💧 One New Dawn product forever?
Definitely our Patchouli Light Moisturiser - it sorts me right out. Great for sunburn in the summer, dry skin in the winter. One bottle, all year round.

🌞 Meet Maddie - Our wonderful Operations Assistant & Newest Ray of Sunshine at New Dawn 🌿

⏳ If you could time travel to any decade which would it be?
The 80’s! I was a teenager with big hair (still am!) and spent my days getting into all sorts of mischief with my best friend Zoe - we’re still inseparable now.

☕ Tea or coffee - and how do you take it?
Both, please! Organic Peppermint tea to relax, and a strong black coffee to get me going.

🎶 A song that instantly puts you in a good mood?
Just Can’t Get Enough by Depeche Mode. My brother used to play it on repeat - it always brings back happy memories.

👩‍👧 Which woman inspires you most?
My mum. She was an absolute legend - beautiful inside and out, humble, kind, and loved by everyone. Growing up, all my friends came to her for hugs and orange squash.

🌸 One scent that takes you back?
Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden - it reminds me of my mum.
