Tension isn't always obvious in the body, it can creep in slowly and without causing any discomfort. Then slowly we can feel more and more achy and that's when we notice our shoulders for e.g. are solid.

Regular massage can keep on top of the slowly gathering tension and release it before you start to feel pain.

Being part of a class can help inspire you to move, work to your best ability. But being part of a community all working and breathing together can also help you feel better.

When we are continually in a state of stress, it can have negative health effects on our body. Stress can exacerbate pain, if not be the direct cause of pain. It can also affect our sleep and how we digest food - which can all have a negative effect on our overall health.

Booking for classes to help with posture and back pain is open now! We'll be starting our new month block of classes next week, mixing yoga poses and Pilates exercises to help with strength and flexibility which in turn can help back pain and posture.

If there is something you aren't sure about, don't feel comfortable about, with regards to a massage it's always best to say - normally there is a very easy alternative. The more comfortable you feel the more benefit you get from your treatment whether you want to relax, de-stress, help manage pain, improve sleep, feel more mobile. Arnava Yoga Studio - helping with modern living

I founded Arnava Yoga Studio when I started teaching over 10 years ago after finally realising my dream to share my passion to keep people fit and healthy through teaching my beloved yoga and pilates.

I discovered yoga as part of my physical theatre and dance training as a student many moons ago and later found pilates as well, in an effort to look after my own back. Since then I have continued to use them to aid my own performance work and sports training. Over the years my practise has grown as I have used it to look after my own body, mind and well being. It has helped me over the years as I have over come injury as well as through pregancy. My life, like so many of us these days, is packed to bursting with work, family commitments and personal interests and my practise with Yoga and Pilates keeps me mentally and physically healthy.

I try to keep my classes “real” with an emphasis on every class suiting the individual needs. I am a strong believer that every person in my classes should work at their best potential for that day and take into account that that can change from week to week. Whilst observing the strong traditions that Pilates and more importantly Yoga have sustained over many years, I believe that we can use them to aid our busy modern lives and keep ourselves strong, fit and healthy.

Arnava Yoga Studio is based in Fishguard at Wintern House Health & Wellness Centre. We have Yoga and Pilates classes, to suit all shapes and sizes through the week. Check out our timetable and events page for up to date information.
