Healthier Fleetwood will joining volunteers and staff from Westview Community Association, Fleetwood Town Community Trust and The Boathouse Youth Fleetwood at the game to take donations for the Fleetwood Together Christmas 2025 appeal.

If you can, any non-perishable food items, gifts, toys and toiletries suitable to include in hampers for families in need this Christmas will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who came along to speak or to listen, and to our hosts at Emmanuel Church Fleetwood. A full summary of all the Good News we heard will be shared over the next few days.

At the end of the evening, we looked ahead to the next meeting on Wednesday 3rd December ... it's going to be a little different!

Firstly, from 2pm to 5pm on that day there's a special community event with Cosy Homes in Lancashire. WARM MATTERS will bring together experts and suppliers to pass on advice for looking after yourself and your homes over the Winter months. Call in for a chat, enjoy the refreshments, pick up some goodies and enter the FREE prize draw.

The kettle will be on after 5pm right through to our meeting from 6.30pm and as it's getting closer to Christmas, don't be surprised if there's some mince pies too!

Lorraine Beavers MP has secured £2m a year for 10 years from the Government and is committed to seek the views of the whole community ... this is money for Fleetwood and Fleetwood will say how it's spent.

For nearly 10 years the Healthier Fleetwood meetings have been a forum for sharing the best of Fleetwood and a springboard for many community groups and events. We're delighted to be working with Lorraine and her team on this exciting opportunity.

Nothing will be decided on the night and if you can't attend there will be many other ways to get involved in the consultation process ... this is one step in a journey that will continue through next year.

More details of the format of the meeting on the 3rd December will be posted in the next couple of weeks - please hold on questions for the moment but get those thinking caps on!

Thank you again to Janet for the beautiful handmade poppies ... these have been available from the Healthier Fleetwood Information Centre and the One Fylde Heart of the Hub cafe for the last couple of weeks.

A donation of £81.46 (a little over £100 with Gift Aid) has been made to the Royal British Legion - thank you to everyone who purchased a poppy!

We are delighted to work alongside another wonderful good cause ... .. KCA Cancer support group CIC.

They've made up some Safety Packs for the darker, winter months with bells and a whistle. Pick one up from Healthier Fleetwood for a minimum donation of £2 and you'll be helping people affected by cancer and supporting their families.

FCMS and Fleetwood Primary Care Network are bringing NHS Health Checks into the community.

Pop along to locations around Fleetwood over the next few weeks for blood pressure testing and a chat with the teams about your health and wellbeing.

Other partner organisations will be there with help and advice ..... and there's also a FREE hot drink and cake offer for the sessions at The HUB Fleetwood and Strive Fleetwood! It's just a little treat but also an opportunity to enjoy two wonderful community cafes and make some new connections.

NHS Health checks are for anyone aged 40 - 74 years without a pre-existing health condition. No booking, just turn up.

Not sure we can promise you fireworks but a week later than usual there will be loads of Good News from the community at tomorrow evening's Healthier Fleetwood OPEN MEETING.

Join us at Emmanuel Church Fleetwood from 6pm for a brew, then the meeting starting at 6.30pm. All welcome to share updates on groups and events in and around Fleetwood, offer your help as a volunteer and suggest ideas for something new.

Among those attending ... we're looking forward to hearing from Heather about the plans for Christmas Day Dinner 2025, how you can help the Fleetwood Together Christmas 2025 appeal, news of sports and fitness opportunities with Active Lancashire, details of a special event coming to Fleetwood next month and much more.

There's no need to book, just turn up to get involved or listen as you prefer, we usually finish around 8pm.

Nearly a year after we moved out, thank you to Regenda Homes Fleetwood for the continued use of the windows at our old premises on Lord Street, directly opposite St Peter's church.

We update the space regularly with posters of upcoming community events and things to do.

It is just some of the many opportunities available in the Fleetwood community ... there's much more on display at our Information Centre in The HUB Fleetwood.

We're open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. Please use the Bold Street or car park entrances of the former hospital building.

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 £𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴

We are currently looking for a chair of the neighbourhood board who will oversee community consultation for the £20million funding we are receiving from the government for Fleetwood town centre.

If it sounds like a job for you, please send a 250-word expression of interest to the email address below by 9am on 17th November 2025, explaining why you’d love the role.

Interviews will be carried out on 20th November.

Upon submitting, you will receive more detailed information on the Pride in Fleetwood (Pride in Place) scheme and the role of the neighbourhood board. But the way this project is run really is up to the chair, so there’s a huge opportunity to be creative with this.

I understand this timeline is tight, but putting a chair in place is the first step towards delivering for Fleetwood, establishing a neighbourhood board that can get the wide-ranging and detailed community consultation underway.

We are looking to get the chair in place by the end of this month, who will then undertake a longer process to invite interest in taking a role on the board.

The chair of the board must:
• Live or work in Fleetwood.
• Have a strong understanding of the challenges our community face.
• Demonstrate a commitment to championing community voices.
• Be experienced in working with a board to deliver strategic goals.

The chair of the board will preferably have:
• Experience of working collaboratively with local people, community representatives, businesses, organisations, and local authorities.
• An understanding of co-production/co-design, and a strong commitment to
prioritising community voices.
• Established relationships with Fleetwood-based community members, organisations, businesses, charities & community representatives.
• Demonstrable experience of applying for and/or combining funding from private, public, & philanthropic funding streams.

These board roles, including chair, are voluntary so specific time commitments, frequency of meetings, involvement in public consultations, & work-load distribution will be decided collaboratively with the board once all members are in place.

𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀.

The parade will assemble at The Kings Own Club, Adelaide Street at 10.00am, with an additional joining point on Warrenhurst Road, around 10.30am.

The Service of Remembrance will take place at The Cenotaph in Fleetwood Memorial Park at 11am.

Thank you to staff from Wyre Council who will be working from 4:30am to prepare memorial sites with care and respect, including planting chrysanthemums and placing wooden crosses on war graves.

To support Remembrance Day, there's also FREE car-parking on Sunday at the Albert Street and Custom House Lane car parks in Fleetwood, 10am and 2pm.
