Happy National Love Your Pet Day! 🐾💛

Bernie brought in her lovely dog, Molly, to spend time with our residents today. There were plenty of cuddles and special moments — Molly definitely brightened the day for everyone! 🐶💕

And In the afternoon, we enjoyed some Chinese nibbles and had fun going around asking residents their birth year to find out which Chinese New Year animal they are. 🧧🐉 It was lovely sharing memories and learning something new about each other

Today we helped Barrie fulfil his “Make a Wish” which was to walk a dog again. 🐾

It may seem like a small thing, but moments like these can mean so much. Being able to hold the lead and spend time with a dog again brought back special memories and a real sense of comfort.

This afternoon we had two lively games of bingo. Residents had their dabbers ready and then it was eyes down 👀 As the room came to a hush as people were waiting for one and two numbers John was the first to shout our BINGO, quickly followed by John calling BINGO again. Flossy and Valerie were our two other lucky winners. Great afternoon with one of our all time favourite activities.

Yesterday we also celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Day by sharing the love 💛
Residents and staff wrote heartfelt notes for one another and filled our Kindness Jar with smiles to be opened later this week.

Today our lovely residents had a wonderful time celebrating Shrove Tuesday by making (and of course eating!) delicious pancakes. From cooking the pancakes to choosing their favourite toppings, there were plenty of smiles, laughter and a few very impressive flipping skills on show!

It was a fantastic way to bring everyone together, share memories of pancake days gone by, and enjoy a sweet treat. Thank you to all the residents and staff who joined in and made the day so special 💛

Today we drew the winning ticket for Name the Bear. Joan did the honours and pulled out Diane’s name and she is now the proud owner of “Dumpling” the bear 🐻 and a rather large box of chocolates. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and we raised £25.00 for the Residents Comfort Fund

Bakes and Bubbles Afternoon Tea ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Today was the start of our Love and Kindness weekend. We started with a few questions about love such as “what does Valentines mean to you?” and “do you prefer chocolates or flowers “. Residents spoke about how they met, what music they used to dance to and it was so lovely to get a glimpse into their lives. We ended the day with a delicious ❤️Bake and Bubbles Afternoon Tea❤️ The tables were adorned with rose petals, menus were placed on the tables and everyone tucked into sandwiches, scones, jam and clotted cream and delicious cakes. A great build up to the big day tomorrow when the Love and Kindness continues

Yesterday our residents rolled up their sleeves and got creative in the kitchen, baking beautiful homemade shortbread treats 🍰🍪
From delicate flowers to sweet hearts, shining stars, and even little people shaped biscuits, every piece was made with care, laughter, and plenty of teamwork 🌷♥️
The room was filled with smiles, proud moments as everyone admired their creations🥰
Baking together not only sparks creativity but also encourages social connection, fine motor skills, and joyful reminiscence✨
We can’t wait to taste these delightful homemade goodies, made with love and lots of fun! 💛✨
