Our lounge is still in use despite the workmen preparing the walls for the renovation. There is noise! There is dust! But we are still doing our activities and eating our lunch at the table. Charlie played Dominoes with Janet and Patsie this morning. Patsie kept winning! This afternoon we had Kerry come in to give the residents and art lesson. The residents painted lovely roses. They were all very good! We had plenty of visitors today. Pat L had her son and daughter-in-law visit. Yvonne had a visit from her daughter Hilary early this morning. Joy had a visit from her daughter and son. Barbara had her daughter Sharon visit, and Michael was token to the Battle of Britain cafe in Capel. Afterwards, they drove to Dover and watched to ferries come and go!

We started the day today with a visit from Nigel for one of his talks. His topic today was 'A celebration of January', and he spoke of the origin of New Year's traditions, songs and celebrations throughout the month. Nigel is always very informative and interactive. He includes the residents throughout his talks and gets their opinions or asks them to join him in song. He had the residents waving their arms to 'Sweet Caroline' today. This afternoon we had our Friday quiz. We have tried some new quiz books that have gone down very well. The residents prefer the potluck questions and there is a wide variety of topics with the questions.

We have had lots of visitors today. Joy's son visited her with his puppy Cyan, she loves cuddles! Patsie had a visit from her son Tony, Janet had a visit from her daughter Jo, who brought cake with her, and Janet was very appreciative. Yvonne had a visit from her daughter this morning, and they shared some eclairs.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

There was a packed lounge this morning for the residents' meeting. Michelle discussed many points with our residents and updated them on the refurbishment so far. Michelle spoke about lots of things, and the points Michelle raised were valued by the residents. This afternoon, we played the word game, which we haven't done for a while. We are still trying to beat our record of 304, and again we failed. We must try harder. There were lots of visitors today. Joy had Denise and Matt visit this morning, and she had Kevin visit this afternoon. Shirley had her son, Keith, visit. June was taken out for most of the day by her daughter Anita, Michael was taken to the Battle of Britain Café by Tracy, and Marion had a visit from her two friends. And lastly, Pat had a visit from her granddaughter, Caroline

All smiles at Brampton today. Our morning was spent chatting and laughing in the lounge. We took a look at the photo album of memories of 2025 that Michelle has put together. We reminisced about some of the events that took place, and the lovely summer that allowed us to sit in our garden and eat lunch.
This afternoon we continued our murder mystery afternoon which we started yesterday. Harmony had been murdered. After much deliberation and discussion, we pondered on the clues and decided that Andy was the murderer. There were five suspects in the line-up. Andy had been in love with harmony since they were six years old. That feeling wasn’t reciprocated by Harmony, so Andy decided that if he couldn’t have her, no one else was! Lots of visitors again today.
Denise visited Joy. Peggy’s daughter came in to see her. Shirley had her son keith in. Marion had her cousin Sylvia visit.

We have had a lovely start to our week here at Brampton Lodge :)
This morning, Dyane took Pam R and David to Morrisons. They did some shopping first, David got himself some chocolates and house plants, and Pam topped up her tonic. They then stopped for a coffee and a slice of cake in the café before heading back for lunch. Katie took Patsie out for breakfast, and they went to the Sunshine Café in town. Patsie mentioned in her one-to-one last week that she had not had poached eggs and salmon for a long time, so, we took her out for some. Patsie really enjoyed her morning and told everybody about it when we got home.
This afternoon, we worked through a Murder Mystery game and had a great response from the residents. We have a pack with physical evidence, including witness statements, newspaper articles, and photos. We have read through all of the statements, as a group, from all witnesses, and we think we have come to a conclusion. But we didn't have time to finish today, so we are going to continue tomorrow afternoon. The residents are looking forward to looking through the bonus evidence we have and coming to a conclusion. We hope you have all had a fab start to your week.

It was all go here at Brampton today. Pre-lunch drinks were busy, and there were many residents in the lounge chatting before lunch. Tony went out for a walk along The Leas. When he returned, he sat in the garden chatting with Peggy. Today, Gabor cooked Cottage pie, or poached fish, for lunch. This afternoon, we have a visit from 'Deefa', the PAT dog. Deefa went around to visit many residents in their rooms this afternoon. Everyone was pleased to see him, and many reminisced about their old family dogs. We heard many stories of things being chewed by puppies! The workmen were very busy today and noisy. Many deliveries were coming through the door. There was even a kitchen delivered today!! The list of visitors today was endless. Yvonne had her daughter, Hilary, pop in early this morning. Shirley and her son sat in the lounge chatting before lunch. Pat had her daughter visit after lunch, and they sat in the lounge chatting and they met Deefa. Iris had her son, David, come in. Maureen had her two friends come in. Pam R had her son come in, and they chatted in her room. And lastly, Joy had a visit from her son Kevin

We have had another busy but wonderful day here today :)
We had to jiggle things around for the hairdresser this morning due to the refurb, but Lisa managed and still had everyone walking away feeling fabulous as always! We have a backup, backup plan too for the coming weeks. Yvonne had a one-to-one this morning, she asked for her nails to be re-painted, and we set a personal goal for the month to work towards.
Nick came to sing for us this afternoon. The residents are all amazed at how well he can play so many different instruments whilst singing too. He always puts on a good show and has a good range of songs. They all really enjoyed the concert and continued chatting with each other about it once Nick had left!
We have had lots of visitors today. This morning Joy had a friend visit her, Shirley had a visit from her son, June's daughter has been here for most of the day with her and Marion had a visit from her cousin. This afternoon, Peggy had a visit from her son and so did Patricia.

We had a pamper morning this morning and David, June and Elizabeth had their nails seen too. Gabor cooked shepherds pie or chicken curry for lunch today. This afternoon we had Kerry come in to teach the residents how to paint a beautiful meadow picture. They all did a great job. Take a look at their pictures! We had visitors visit residents today too. Joy had a visit from her friend Sharon this morning. Barbara had her granddaughter come in. Marion and Michael had their daughter Tracy visit this afternoon, and Elizabeth had her daughter and Husband, and granddaughter come in. It was a busy day.
The renovations on the dining room are still in full motion and there is plenty of noise going on, but we are getting on with it and making the most of the situation.

Lorna our podiatrist came in this morning and saw to our residents feet. Lorna is lovely and they enjoy chatting with her, as well as getting their feet seen to. We met in the lounge for pre lunch drinks before eating beef stew and dumplings, or sweet and sour chicken, cooked by Gabor. This afternoon we had armchair travel to Cyprus. Dyane showed the residents her holiday photos from when she visited Cyprus in November. They learnt facts on Cyprus, had a go at a quiz about Cyprus and watched a video all about Cyprus and its history, culture and favourite tourist spots. They even ate some Cypriot food.
The work in the dining room is still going full steam ahead. Our lounge is being used as a dining room, but we are managing and the residents are adapting very well.
Shirley had a visit from her son today. Pam had a visit from her friend Michelle. Imelda had her 2 sisters and one of their husbands. Janet’s daughter Jo came in to see her and Denise came to visit Joy.

It is Morrisons Monday so we headed out with Marion and Joy and had a nice slice of cake and a cuppa. We sat in the cafe and chatted, and put the world to rights! We did a bit of shopping in the store before heading home for a pre lunch drink. Crystal came in with her new pup Acorn. She is sooo cute. There was a lot of fussing over her, and she was on a best behavior too. (The dog, not crystal). We celebrated Toby’s birthday today so we all gathered in the lounge to sing happy birthday to him, and give a card and present. Our lunch was a bit different today. Our dining room has temporarily moved into the lounge during the refurbishment so it was all a bit chaotic today, but our original dining room now has a partition wall and door. This afternoon Sylvia had her nails painted and Josh had a game of catch with Patsie. David and June had a quiz afternoon.
Joy had a visit from her son Kevin. Hilary came in to see Yvonne. Marion and Michael had their daughter Tracy visit this afternoon. Maureen had Sue and Vic pop in to see her.

Today was nice and chilled at Brampton Lodge. This morning, our residents mainly stayed in their rooms, relaxing! We only had a few come along to the lounge for a pre-lunch drink. Kelly cooked a lovely lunch, which the residents all tucked into. It was lasagne or chicken Kiev today. This afternoon we met in the lounge and had a go at doing a crossword. The clues were so hard! Dyane ended up giving extra clues to help the residents guess the word.
The residents had plenty of visitors too. Yvonne had a visit from Hilary early this morning. Pam B had her brother-in-law pick her up, and they had a ride to Saltwood. They had to do a detour through Hythe as the road is still blocked due to the recent storm. Joy had her daughter Denise visit. David had his sister Marion come in to see him. June C had her daughter come in, and Shirley had her son visit. Lastly, Imelda had her niece Clare come in, and they spent the afternoon chatting in Imelda's room. Tony took himself on two walks today. It was really cold and he was wrapped up warm.
We will all have a nice, restful day tomorrow, which we will make the most of, before the renovation work starts on Monday (12th Jan)
