Time to relax.
Our next Yoga Nidra session with Helen is on Monday 20th April, and booking is now open.
If life has felt busy, noisy or relentless lately, this is your chance to intentionally stop. Not earned through effort, just a conscious decision to let your nervous system restore.
Yoga Nidra - sometimes called yogic sleep - guides you into a state of deep rest and inner calm. You'll leave feeling genuinely rested, clear-headed and refreshed. The kind of rest you can't get from simply sitting on the sofa.
This is the complete picture of health, fitness and wellness - and it's exactly what the Run Fit Fordingbridge studio is here for.

Huge congratulations to our ladies who completed their Beginners Running Course graduation run at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground parkrun today. They showed up, put in the work, and proved to themselves what they are capable of. This is what it's all about.
A special mention to the Run Fit community who came out to support them on the day — that encouragement means everything.
Lots of smiles — and plenty of sunshine to match.

I was listening to a Diary of a CEO episode recently --- the one with Alex Honnold, the free solo climber and the first person to climb El Capitan without ropes. But what really caught my attention was the discussion around doing hard things.
It got me thinking about the words we use when things get tough. And how those words impact us, our choices and the people around us.

Should you eat before exercising?
It's one of the questions I get asked most — especially by women who've been told that training on an empty stomach is the key to burning more fat.
The research tells a different story. And when you look at the female-specific evidence, fasted training can actually work against the goals most women are trying to achieve.
I've written a blog post that gets into the detail — what actually happens in women's bodies when they train fasted, why the cortisol response matters more than most people realise, and what to eat (and when) to get the most out of your sessions.
If you've been arriving at class on empty, or wondering why your energy is low and results feel slow — this might be worth a read.

This International Women's Day, the theme is Give To Gain.

For most women, giving comes naturally. To family, to work, to everyone around them. But how often do you give to yourself?
When you invest in your own health, strength and wellbeing — when you give yourself the time to train, to recover, to restore — you gain more than fitness. You gain energy, resilience and the capacity to show up fully for the people and things that matter most to you.
That is the reciprocity that transforms everything. Not giving until you are empty, but filling yourself up so that what you give to others is sustainable, generous and real.
The women in this community who give themselves that consistency, week after week — they become a source of strength, encouragement and inspiration for the women around them. That is Give To Gain in action.
This Women's Day, consider what giving to yourself could unlock — not just for you, but for everyone around you.
Your health. Your strength. Your recovery. Your wellbeing. It all starts with you.

Looking to pick up weights for the first time?
Our next FitStart women's beginners strength and fitness program starts 21st April.

One of the best parts of FitStart is seeing how much progress women make in just 6 weeks. It’s always lovely to hear how they’re already feeling stronger, more confident and noticing the benefits in their day-to-day lives.
FitStart is ideal if you’re new to training or getting back into it after some time away. With small group sessions you’ll get extra support, build confidence and feel comfortable as you get fitter each week.

New blog post - Stronger after 40
There's a point in every woman's life where staying active stops being enough on its own. Where the body needs something more intentional. More specific to what's actually happening hormonally and physiologically. For women over 40, that something is strength training. I've just published a new blog post on the Run Fit Fordingbridge website and it's one I've wanted to write for a while. Because this is a conversation I have a lot, in classes, on runs, in consultations, and I wanted to put everything in one place. The post covers five reasons why strength training matters so much for women over 40, and why it goes far beyond aesthetics or weight loss.

There is just one place remaining for Monday evening's Yoga Nidra session with Helen.
If you've been meaning to give your mind the same attention you give your body, this is the moment. Known as 'yogic sleep', this guided meditation practice takes you into a state of deep rest - not switching off completely, but giving your nervous system the restoration it genuinely needs.
We're good at keeping going, pushing through, staying busy - but true well being means making space for recovery of the mind as well as the body. This is that space.

Foam Rolling Workshop – Friday 13th March, 11:30am

If you often feel tight through your glutes, hips, legs, back or shoulders, this relaxed small-group session will show you how to use your foam roller and move more comfortably.

Across the hour, we’ll go through simple, effective techniques for the areas that commonly feel restricted—whether you run, do strength or fitness classes, or just want your body to feel a bit better day to day. You’ll leave with ideas you can use at home and a clearer sense of what actually works for your body.

Please bring your own foam roller.
If you don’t have one, these are good examples:
• Medium-density (great if you’re new to it): https://amzn.eu/d/hA60fMj
• High-density (if you already foam roll): https://amzn.eu/d/5LjDqjm

What is foam rolling?
Foam rolling is a type of self-myofascial release that can help reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow and support better range of movement—especially when paired with the rest of your training or active warm-up.
Booking is open online via the website and link below - https://www.runfitfordingbridge.co.uk/service-page/foam-rolling-class?referral=service_list_widget
