🎩 The team will be taking on the Clarendon Walk on Saturday 4th of July to raise funds for Salisbury Hospice 🎩

It’s a tough walk, having done in twice many years ago, but this time we’re doing it in reverse.

We’ll be setting up a fundraising page in the next couple of days, for anyone who wishes to sponsor the team.

🎩 Today we were back at The Barn Cafe in Lytchett Matravers to celebrate the wonderful life of Sandra Marie Sheppard, an amazing woman. Sandra left instructions that she didn’t want a funeral, she wanted an unattended cremation, and her wishes were fulfilled prior to the service today, but her Husband and soul mate Graham for almost 55 years, wanted to honour an incredible lady, to say goodbye and have his closure. A love story that started with a spilt drink and began their journey of a beautiful life together, with laughter and memories to cherish always.

A service led by Celebrant Steve Richards with music, stories, tributes and a moving slideshow of Sandra’s life.

After the service the family continued sharing their precious memories of Sandra, with a fantastic buffet and drinks, whilst the slideshow continued to play quietly in the background.

A memorial service is a time to say your farewell to your loved one in a unique way. We find more people are opting for an unattended cremation, and there’s nothing wrong with their choice, you as a family can carry out their wishes and at the same time have your closure.

Here at Jonathan Rust Family Funeral Directors, we can help you find your perfect goodbye, in a setting that feels right for you, we can include their favourite music, tell stories and turn those beautiful photos into a memorable slideshow.

Sleep well Sandra, go light up the sky with your infectious smile, you’ll be missed and remembered forever by your loved ones 🎩

Many families now choose to hold a memorial service followed by a wake at a local village hall or private venue. Including A Celebration of Life Tribute offers a meaningful and heartfelt way to share memories, honour a loved one, and bring family and friends together in a warm, supportive setting to remember them. If I can help you reflect on your loved one’s life by sharing those treasured memories, it would be my privilege.

Hello, I thought I should properly introduce myself.

My name is Rose, and for many years I have created photographic slideshows set to music to celebrate important family milestones — weddings, birthdays, new births, and sometimes to remember and honour those we have lost.

Six months ago, I lost my husband, Michael. When I began searching for a slideshow to include in his service, I found that most available options felt very generic and lacked the real emotion and empathy I was hoping for. I realised that perhaps the best person to create a tribute for Michael was me.

It was an emotional journey, but I felt I was able to do him justice and truly celebrate his life and the wonderful person he was. I was deeply touched when both the celebrant and the funeral director told me it was one of the most meaningful tributes they had seen.

A few months after losing Mike, I began to think about what I might do next. It occurred to me that perhaps I could help other families honour and celebrate the lives of their loved ones in the same way. With the support and encouragement of Jon Rust of Jonathan Rust Family Funeral Directors, I began creating tribute slideshows for other families.

It is truly an honour to be entrusted with these memories. My aim is always to create a tribute that reflects a life well lived and that brings a little comfort and solace to those left behind.

If you would like more information, or if you are interested in commissioning a personal tribute for a loved one, please feel free to get in touch. I would be very happy to talk with you.

Oh & this is me . . . excuse the photo but like most of us I don't like my own photos!
