Hello, I thought I should properly introduce myself.

My name is Rose, and for many years I have created photographic slideshows set to music to celebrate important family milestones — weddings, birthdays, new births, and sometimes to remember and honour those we have lost.

Six months ago, I lost my husband, Michael. When I began searching for a slideshow to include in his service, I found that most available options felt very generic and lacked the real emotion and empathy I was hoping for. I realised that perhaps the best person to create a tribute for Michael was me.

It was an emotional journey, but I felt I was able to do him justice and truly celebrate his life and the wonderful person he was. I was deeply touched when both the celebrant and the funeral director told me it was one of the most meaningful tributes they had seen.

A few months after losing Mike, I began to think about what I might do next. It occurred to me that perhaps I could help other families honour and celebrate the lives of their loved ones in the same way. With the support and encouragement of Jon Rust of Jonathan Rust Family Funeral Directors, I began creating tribute slideshows for other families.

It is truly an honour to be entrusted with these memories. My aim is always to create a tribute that reflects a life well lived and that brings a little comfort and solace to those left behind.

🎩 28 years ago my beautiful Daughter Molly was born, sadly she only spent 7 months with us. Losing a baby or child too soon is one of the toughest times a parent goes through. It doesn’t just affect Mum and Dad, it affects the Grandparents, siblings and the whole family. I’ve always been passionate about helping families when they’ve said goodbye to their precious little one. Back in 2017, we founded a charity called Tyler’s Friends to help families with financial support to enable them to have the funeral and memorial of their wishes. As a funeral director, I want to continue to help in anyway I can. We’ve set up a service to help families, called a gentle goodbye. If we can help in just the smallest of ways, we’ll do all we possibly can. Even a loss during pregnancy can be heartbreaking, all those hopes and dreams shattered in one moment. It’s still a taboo subject, friends not knowing what to say, worried they’ll say the wrong words, crossing the street to avoid that conversation. Together we can break this and remember them how they deserve to be remembered 🩵🩷

🎩 This morning we headed over to the Barn Cafe in Lytchett, Poole to say goodbye to Jennie, an amazing lady.

Jennie wanted an unattended cremation, and her family honoured her wishes, but they also wanted to celebrate a unique life for an inspirational Mum, Nan, Auntie and Great Nan who was loved by many.

We arranged a bespoke memorial service in a beautiful and relaxed place. Stories were shared with memories shown with a stunning slideshow of photographs, and music carefully chosen by the family. Jennie you will be greatly missed, enjoy that cognac with the loved ones who went before you 🎩

A service doesn’t have to be in a crematorium or church, with a coffin present, there are so many different ways to remember your loved ones, bespoke and unique and exactly how you want it to be.

Friday night I swapped my top hat for my bingo hat. Helping raise money for Fordingbridge Sports Club. We donated a booze hamper to help the money roll in. A great evening was had by all and over £500 was raised for the club. Thank to everyone who dug deep to make it a successful night.
