Introducing "The BBs", aka Bella & Bois - who have been together since they were kittens. In less than two weeks with us - and after six months in care with the lovely people at and several more at on the south coast - they've each hit a "feeling-at-home" milestone. Cuddles on the ottoman for Boris and a whole minute on my lap for Bella! Their angel brothers - Bob & Buddy 🐾 - have obviously let them know they are safe and will be loved by the two humans, aka Owen Morgan and me...!!!

✨️Ahead of the cinema release of 'Are you there, God? It's me, Margaret.', I was interviewed (amongst others) for Metro newspaper but you won't be surprised that I've got much more to say! ✨️ As a celebrant and through the research I’m doing for my PhD, I would argue that we have a huge gap in how we mark our menstrual milestones and changing this would have impact and value in our ability to break the taboos. For example, the puberty rite of passage, is all but gone in non-religious communities in the UK; very little emphasis is placed on the experience of the mother when we celebrate the arrival of a child; grieving after miscarriage remains hidden as, somehow, it’s become customary to wait until after 12 weeks to tell anyone you’re pregnant and menopause is only just emerging from the shadows, and even then, as a pathology not a coming-of-age to be honoured.

In preparation for my big birthday this summer - or what I'm calling my Coming of Age - I've just returned from 12-hours 'sitting out'. I sat alone, overnight with nothing but something to sit on, drinking water and waterproofs (which thankfully weren't needed). What a glorious experience! I was most struck by the silence in the thick of night and then the gentle arrival of the dawn chorus! A few nervous moments when I was visited by the unseen scufflers and ground scratchers but when I explained why I was there they gave me my space...

Well, it's a good job today was already scheduled as a reading day! Taking a break from literature review to consider "A Sacred Approach" to research...and feeling like having a certain cat curled on my lap may have some wisdom to offer!!
