Looking for numbers please of people that would attend a monthly/6 weekly session for foot care/toe nail clipping . Moray handy person provide this service but there is a long waiting list ! It would cost £25 per person & if we have enough interest it could be started from the Park asap.

"How can I make a difference?" asked the fox.
"Be kind to others," replied the moon, "for even the smallest acts of kindness make the world a better place."

Dear Caring Community members,

We are welcoming the last stretch of the winter. Only 75 days to Springtime. Hang in there!
We have a few important updates for you.

From Thursday 5 February to Monday 9 February, our wonderful CCC Coordinator Jen Hayward will be taking a well-deserved short break.

During this time, Izzy Isabella Guerrini de Claire, will be kindly covering the CCC helpline 07704741507 for one hour each day, from 5–6pm. Please leave messages via WhatsApp or on the answering machine, and we ask for your patience and understanding...
this is not Izzy’s usual role, and she will do her best supporting the community during this short period of time. Feel free to let her know if you want to help!

Spoiler... Our next volunteer CCC Coordinator Assistant will be joining us soon. Yay!

In the meantime, you may find helpful information on available public services in Moray through our CCC Signposting Guide we created for you here:
https://parkecovillagetrust.co.uk/caring-community/ccc-signposting-guide-moray-health-wellbeing.

Please do have a look and let us know if you feel anything is missing.

Looking ahead, the CCC helpline will soon have clearly defined calling hours.
We are currently streamlining our work so we can be mindful and responsible with our funds and donors, especially during these challenging times for health
and wellbeing services.

Thank you, as always, for your care, patience, and continued support.
Warm wishes, The CCC Team

Thich Nhat Hanh's suggestions to live by at the Caring Community Circle.
🌟 1. Never underestimate the power of a kind word, a touch, or a smile
🌟 2. If you love someone, the most important gift you can give them is your presence. Surround yourself with people who are there for you, and you will be happy.
🌟 3. Being beautiful means being yourself.
A person's greatest beauty is seen when they stop wearing masks and hiding, but start being themselves.
🌟 4. Walk as if you were kissing the ground with your feet.
🌟 5. As long as you are alive, everything is possible.
🌟 6. When a person makes you suffer, it is only because they suffer deeply with themselves.
🌟 7. Blaming others has no positive effect.
🌟 8. Let go of what doesn't serve you and you will be happy.
🌟 9. Loving someone means wanting to accompany them on their life journey without changing them.
🌟 10. The present moment is all you have.
Living the present moment to the fullest is all we really need to be happy.

Update from the Moray Council ❄️

Update from the Moray Council ❄️

❄️ Wintry weather updates – Friday 9 January 2026 ❄️

⚠ As we head into the weekend and a further yellow weather warning for snow and ice lasting into at least Sunday, we reiterate the advice to follow Police Scotland and Traffic Scotland guidance around travel.

🥶 Looking ahead to next week and hopefully starting to see a significant thaw we’re sharing Scottish Water’s advice on avoiding burst pipes.

💧 As we see temperatures rise, the thaw of significant snow drifts on higher routes increase the risk of flooding and standing water on roads. Given drains may still be covered and the amount of snow to melt, please take care when travelling around the region. Any disruption to services as a result of this will be shared on the Service Status Portal (SSP).

💪 On Friday 9 January, gritting teams made it to some Priority 4 routes and are working on Priority 1-3 footpaths across Moray. Priority 1 routes were also treated from 4.30pm today and will continue to be treated over the weekend.

📍 Grit bins continue to be refilled with the help of staff from other teams and contractors. Members of the public can find their nearest grit bin, and request refills, on the map on the link in the comments.

❗️ Please note: Moray Council’s Contact Centre is still experiencing high call and email volumes, so please bear with us if it takes a little longer to get through. For weekend contacts have a look at our emergency options here.

‼️ The registrar team is also dealing with higher than anticipated volumes of work and are working through requests as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding as our staff do everything possible to catch up as quickly as possible while putting safety first.

👇 Updates below as of 4.30pm on Friday 9 January.

♻ A standalone update on waste collections and recycling centres is available on the link in the comments.

🧑‍🏫 Schools

We expect all schools to be open on Monday 12 January and thank everyone who helped clear paths to get them open. Thank you also, to the school staff, pupils and families for their patience and professionalism this week while remote learning has been in operation.

Any changes to existing arrangements or school transport will be shared on the Service Status Portal before schools are due to start on Monday morning.

🚌 Transport

Any updates or changes to m.connect routes next week will be shared on the SSP.

🏠 Housing

We expect to be returning to more business as usual housing maintenance next week – priority will still be given to urgent repairs to weather damage but routine maintenance will start to be picked up again.

The housing team will be in touch with tenants to reschedule appointments from this week.

👥 Care

Check with individual day centres for opening arrangements for next week. Details on vaccination centres will be provided by Health & Social Care Moray or NHS Grampian.

Anyone requiring care assistance or with concerns around care provision should email accesscareteam@moray.gov.uk.

🙏 Thank you for your patience while we've seen disruption to services this week and to everyone who has helped get through the challenging circumstances. We'll continue with these efforts over the weekend and into next week.

And suddenly…calm feels erotic.
08/01/2026

And suddenly…
calm feels erotic.

Why are we all emotionally undone by monks who are… just walking?

Yes—there’s also Aloka, a rescued dog. Obviously. 🐾

Right now, Buddhist monks are walking 2,300 miles from Texas to Washington, D.C..

No protest signs.
No shouting.
No outrage.
No hot takes.

Just… walking.
For peace.

And yet—

People are lining the streets.
Tracking them online.
Crying in public.
Re-evaluating their lives mid-afternoon.

So what’s actually happening here?

Here’s the truth: We are
overstimulated,
overworked,
over-argued,
over-informed,
and profoundly under-rested.

And suddenly…
calm feels erotic.

Science backs this up, by the way.

Humans regulate better with:

simplicity

compassion

mindfulness

fewer notifications

Turns out your nervous system hates the news cycle.

And yes—when the rescue dog joined the pilgrimage, the attention doubled.
Aloka became the emotional support icon we didn’t know we needed.

Because this walk isn’t loud.
It isn’t clever.
It isn’t trying to convince you of anything.

It’s just embodied peace moving through a noisy world.

And your body recognizes that before your mind can explain it.

So maybe peace isn’t something we wait for.
Maybe it’s something we walk toward—
in small, unglamorous, everyday ways.

Peace can look like:
pausing before reacting
walking without your phone
choosing kindness over being right
breathing instead of spiraling
letting “simple” be enough

No robe required.

I always say this: You don’t wait for joy.
You place yourself on the path to it.

And yes—peace, pleasure, and prosperity are allowed to coexist.

And this is why the monks’ walk matters.

Not because it fixes the world overnight,
but because it regulates it.

Their steady steps slow people down.

Their silence gives permission to exhale.

Their presence reminds us—without preaching—that peace is a practice, not a performance.

For a moment, people feel safer in their own bodies.

Less alone in their overwhelm.

More willing to choose gentleness over urgency.

That’s the real impact.

They aren’t marching at anyone.

They’re walking with us—
showing, not telling, what calm looks like in motion.
You don’t wait for joy.

You place yourself on the path to it.
And yes—
peace, pleasure, and prosperity are allowed to coexist.
