Over the past year, we have been undertaking the most significant development in the history of Manson & MacBeath Funeral Directors.

Today, we are extremely proud to announce the completion of extensive renovations to our existing premises, alongside the construction of several new facilities designed to enhance the care we provide to families throughout Lochaber.

Our original building has been fully refurbished and modernised, creating a warm, welcoming and dignified environment for the families we are privileged to serve. In addition, we have developed a new Bereavement Care Centre — Aite Sìth, meaning “peaceful place” in Gaelic — thoughtfully designed to offer comfort, privacy and tranquillity during life’s most difficult moments.
Aite Sìth is home to Lochaber’s most advanced, state-of-the-art mortuary facilities, ensuring your loved ones receive the highest standard of professional care. The building also includes a contemporary service room for smaller, private family services, seating up to 35 people. With integrated high-quality multimedia facilities, we are able to provide personalised music and memorial tribute slideshows to create meaningful and fitting farewells.

Alongside these developments, we have constructed a new dedicated store facility and coffin showroom, further enhancing the choice, professionalism and level of service available to our community.

We believe this investment represents a significant step forward in funeral care across Lochaber — combining tradition, compassion and modern facilities to serve families today and for generations to come.

This project would not have been possible without the outstanding work of GCF Building Contractors (and all their sub-contractors). Their professionalism, craftsmanship and commitment throughout the past year have been exceptional, and we extend our sincere thanks for their dedication, especially to Martin Graham, Alan Graham and Ewan Cameron.

Finally, we would like to thank the community for your continued trust and support. It is, and always will be, our privilege to care for you.

Locally invested. Locally built. Caring for local families.

FERGUSON - DAVID
(1962 - 2026)
(Kilchoan)

Davie, passed away on the 13th February 2026, at Raigmore Hospital shortly and suddenly after being diagnosed with cancer. Dad to Sìne, Caitlin and Innes and wee brother to Ali, as well as a friend to many. Lots of him will live on - his love of Scotland, history, politics, football, and his very varied taste in music. He loved his family deeply, cherished his friends, and was at his happiest in the west coast Highlands of Scotland, especially in his role as Lighthouse Keeper at Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.

His spirit lives on and his family will continue to do everything they can to make him proud. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages and support.
