Yesterday, was just one of those days! 🙈

I was spinning too many plates, I was putting too much self-pressure on myself to do it all and the result…I made mistakes (not big ones) just ones that added up over the day and then that negative mindset creeps in.

“I’m useless, I’m an idiot, I’m so disappointed in myself” Sound familiar?

Well, the old me would have punished myself internally beyond recognition, leading to a sleepless night, wrenched with guilt and shame.

But, I am so glad I am not that person anymore. Instead, I wrote myself a love letter before bed.

It was filled with gratitude, love, compassion and pride of who I am. It reframed that negative chatter and I had the most blissful sleep.

Today, I am full of vibrancy, positive energy and re-reading that letter was the BEST way to start my day. And to support that energy, my angel card this morning could not have been more accurate…swipe to see!

Let this be your reminder, that we’re all human, we all have off days, the choice is how we manage the narrative.

A calm, nourishing life starts with one small shift.

One of my clients came to me exhausted, foggy, and overwhelmed.
She was stuck in the loop of emotional eating, wired at night, tired in the morning… and feeling disconnected from her body.

❌ We didn’t start with a diet.
❌ We didn’t overhaul her entire life.

✅ We started with one small shift: a calm, balanced breakfast before the day took over.
Then we added in breathwork.
A 5-minute walk.
And slowly… her body started to trust her again.

If you’ve been spinning your wheels trying to “fix” your energy, your eating, your mood, try a softer approach.

If you’re getting 7+ hours of sleep and still waking up exhausted… this post is for you.

Fatigue isn’t always about rest.

It can also be:
🩷 Blood sugar crashes
💚 Nutrient depletion (hello, magnesium and minerals)
💛 Emotional overwhelm
🤍 Lack of actual recovery (mental, physical, emotional)

If you’re tired of feeling tired, there is a way through.

BUT! It starts by getting curious, not critical.

Today is International Self-Care Day.

Not that we need a reason to prioritise ourselves, do we? But sometimes we forget how powerful the simple things can be.

So remember to take a moment to pause, reflect and reconnect.

Self-care doesn’t need to be spa days or silence (although both are lovely of course). It can be small, grounded moments that help you feel more like you again.

Here are a few of my favourite ways to honour self-care:
💛 Saying no without guilt
💛 Eating a meal slowly and without distraction
💛 Letting your body rest - without “earning” it
💛 Getting outside, even for five minutes (you know I love my morning walks)
💛 Moving, stretching, or simply breathing
💛 Remembering that how you feel matters

If life feels a bit loud right now, maybe today is your sign to pause and come back to yourself? Are you caring for yourself today? If so, what are you doing? 💖

Feeling wired, overwhelmed or like your body’s stuck on “go”?

Here are 3 simple nervous system regulation tools you can try today :
1️⃣ Longer exhales (inhale for 4, exhale for 6)
2️⃣ Ground your feet into the floor and tune in to where you are
3️⃣ Put on music that calms or moves you, and let it shift your state

These may seem small, but they can help your body learn and trust that it’s safe to slow down.

Mums - I see you.
You’re spinning plates, planning snacks, managing meltdowns, and maybe wondering… where will you fit in this summer?

Here are some ways to bring your wellness into the mix without the overwhelm:
☺️ One quiet cup of tea in the morning - before the day begins
☺️ Batch prep a couple of lunches or snacks so you’re not always winging it
☺️ Book yourself a massage/time out for yourself.
☺️ Ask for and accept help when it’s offered

You matter too. You’re allowed space. And your well-being doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be yours.

I'm pressing pause for a little creative rest this weekend. I'm switching off and soaking up time with my family, and giving myself space to just be.

I am Becci Barnley of BB Holistic Therapy, I am a paediatric nurse and holistic therapist living in Alton, Hampshire. I have always had a passion and interest in nourishing health and well being through alternative holistic therapies. The knowledge of my professional career coupled with my passion for holistic therapies gives me a unique ability to provide quality treatments to clients seeking relaxation and harmony.

I am passionate about supporting people to maximise their health and well-being through a variety of therapies. My treatment room is a safe and supportive space to feel relaxed, escape the pressures of modern life and to enable each client to experience a sense of well-being.

I am a fully insured therapist and I offer a bespoke personalised experience tailored to your individual needs
